[School of Hard Knocks] : A Plea

Because those didn’t exist when the meta was created?

Obviously, but they could change or add more things like they’ve done with other parts of the game that weren’t here before.

Them not adding other requirements, doesn’t mean they should be required to remove currently existing requirements.

Hate to say it, but you’re not going to get this changed. They haven’t changed it despite complaints every single year. Just buck up and get it done.

pretty much every pvp achievement is exactly this.

nobody is there for the team, they’re there for their own needs.

Go with your guild or friends. We did it years ago and helped each other get the achievements.

Good luck.

I don’t PVP at all. I hate it.

I did the Children’s Week meta last year in its entirety even though I only started playing in February 2018. Even the PVP stuff. I didn’t even start doing endgame/guild PvE stuff until Uldir. Literally only had surface-level knowledge of the game when I did it. Being a monk helps for the Alterac one. Getting my Proto-Drake after I finish Noblegarden (I didn’t know the Proto-Drake existed until Children’s Week last year lol. Finished the whole thing in a year)

So no.

You still had to do it though right? The game made you do content you didn’t want to do. Doesn’t matter if you were unlucky or lucky or had friends or a guild or finished it in the shortest or longest time possible.

You had to go do something you didn’t like. You even admit you hate PvP. So do I, so do a lot of people.

You were made to go into an aspect of the game you didn’t enjoy. A bit like how you have to do a Heroic Siege of Boralus + 4 dungeons to finish the story to get Kul Tirans. Imagine my surprise when you had to do a Motherlode for the Dark Irons as well. I saw posts on the forums from people that don’t even do dungeons!

Don’t get me wrong: I’m empathetic to your conflict.

That being said, it’s wholly possible. It’s wholly possible in a day, even (I think I had the meta done in 3ish days, but I put the PvPing off).

Yes, but I didn’t hate it even though I hate PvP, if that makes sense. Probably doesn’t. Once I got what piece of the achievement I needed, I didn’t hate hanging out (even if I was hanging back) and helping.

Even then, I have to do a lot of stuff I don’t necessarily like. I’ve grown to sorta hate the Tiragarde Riverbud route, but I run it because I’m too stubborn to buy herbs and it’s really not that bad with music.

It’s a one-time thing. Though I really recommend using a monk for it if you can. The mobility will really help. on Alterac, you can double chi torpedo into a flying serpent kick out the doors then mount and you’ll be pretty much ahead of all your teammates, basically guaranteeing you can cap one of those first towers. You do have to PvP for other holiday metas, and I think it comes down to the devs wanting players to explore the scope of the game. Same reason why you have to go through dungeons for lunar new year’s (even though they’re now easily soloable lol). And I can’t really fault them for that even if I don’t cotton on to PvP even after doing all the holiday metas.

nobody wants to work, or pay bills.

sometimes you have to do stuff you don’t want to do, to reach the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I have a 100 Rogue and and a 112 Druid. I’m thinking Druid to break roots? Maybe Rogue and Smoke Bomb for assaults? I’m relying on stealth and a lot of luck. I think my next free boost will have to be a Monk. I don’t have a high level monk anywhere :frowning:

This is just a game my dude.

All the more sweeter I know. How I felt after finally unlocking my missing Pathfinders. I did get that elation to be honest

Literally saw this thread 100 years ago

That cuts both ways. Stop complaining about pixels. Either do what’s required or don’t and realize it’s just a game either way.

You kidding? T. Rex’s were complaining about flag carrying requirements, and were calling for brontosaurus nerfs.

They removed pterodactyl-gliders too and the trex rage quit.

The implication being that games are generally meant to be fun and not meant to be frustrating… i.e - not work.

Obviously real life is different and work is…work (although if you have your dream job it can also be fun).

And some people enjoy PvP content. Don’t complain about a meta achievement not tailoring to what you specifically enjoy.

If Blizz implemented each request to make the game easier we would eventually have a game where your toon is controlled by one button…
How about instead of changing the game, you change yourself? Just do it! I sprinkle all the motivational messages and wish you great luck!

I bet you’ve never complained once about the game have you? I commend you for not reading any of my points as well. Oh well, at least you complained about me complaining so were even.

Well i don’t have to do that as I’m going to try and do it anyway. I’ve known this well before I made my post but I’ve seen this request many times myself in the past so I know that it’s not even ‘that one persons’ request.

Thank you. Muchly appreciated. I’ll need a lot of luck. I’ll stop doing any mount and transmog runs to save up my rng credit lol. :grinning::+1:

I don’t need to, I’ve read them all before. It’s a meta achievement, it’s been in the game since wrath and people complain about it every year. It’s not changed.

Do you know what the definition of insanity is?

Edit: In all honesty, I don’t care at this point. If you get it changed, then I’ll probably cheer… But the fact of the matter is that if you put 1/10th the effort you’ve put into this thread as you did into the achievement… You’d already have it done.

They are not going to remove it because it is not that damn hard to do. It’s not like PvP players aren’t forced into doing PvE content to earn achievements. So why is is wrong that PvE players have to run a few BGs to earn one?
