In short, no
It is not that hard. Just need tk suck it up and commit to it.
If it is worth it enough to you, you will get it. Proba ly off somebody else sucking it up and pushing through too

So you’ve spoken to every pvp’er, and know for a fact they feel a certain way? No you didn’t. Therefore, not fact. Fact would include source-related knowledge, and proper proof of your claim.
No the fact is that this achievement will foster selfish gameplay over a team based one and you’re all perfectly fine with it. Check the achievement, not one of the ‘efforts’ can be done in a group. It’s only going to trigger from the player doing it. A bunch a people with their orphans out will not get the credit for what someone else does.
So basically a lot of us are going to be milling around, waiting in line for the next flag to appear to cap, hurriedly clicking to be the first on the fallen Warsong flag and getting to the first assaults on the tower and blacksmith.
To have any chance of succeeding, I’m going to wait in stealth and pounce on what I need to do. No good playing a class that’s open to enemy attacks otherwise I’ll be in the graveyard all the time.
I’m not even helping my team. Not once, if not for it being part of the meta, I have no reason even being there and times that by the other people wanting it.
The silly thing is you and some others here are so happy with this style of play. I want something for the better of everyone.
Explain how my selfishness is better than wanting group play. I’m dying to hear it and have a good laugh at the same time.
Does the same thing in arena with the current meta. Means nothing to me.
Such is the nature of achievements. Means nothing to me. We’ve all been dealing with it for over a decade by this point.
Such is life. Still don’t care.
No, you want something better for you. Call it what it is. Stop trying to be a ‘voice of the people’. You speak for you. And only you.
You act as if you suddenly have some kind of impact. People in random bg’s have been playing selfishly since the dawn of this game’s existence. You don’t mean that much in this situation, man.
As a PvP player, I love children’s week. Helping you guys get the cheeve is rewarding.
I only ask that you stick out the match, it’s probably quicker than eating a deserter debuff. Who knows, maybe you’ll have fun too!
This achievement isn’t as bad as it looks. I got it on this character back in '09, and on my 'lock, and on my mage.
The best thing to do is when you go into each bg tell the group you are there for the achievement and see if anyone will let you tag along with them for protection.
AV there is always a tower being assaulted and retaken to be reassaulted. Sure it may take several bg’s to get it done, but it is doable. Sometimes you’ll find opposite faction people who are there just to trade the assaults … just try not to kill them.
Warsong Gulch make a mouseover keybinding and spam it when you mouseover a fallen flag.
Arathi is again just hit and miss, try talking to the team before the bg starts and see if the team is willing to split up and let achievement hunters get it. You don’t have to get the first flag, watch for ones your team is losing and get others to go with you to retake it.
Eye of the storm was actually the one i had the most trouble with, because you have to actually capture the flag. But it is doable.
The key thing is communicating with the whole team. Yes sometimes the pvp’ers hate this achievement and get really annoyed at all the pve’ers in there mucking things up. But alot of the time they are really willing to help people get the achievement. If nothing else just to make the bg’s less pve’er filled. lol.
I have macro’s for each bg reminding the team to help people get the achievements, and reminding people to make sure their orphans are out. Nothing worse than doing your part and it not counting because the orphan was gone.
OP… I feel your pain! I absolutely can not stand having to do PVP. I did try my hand in it for awhile and realized it just wasn’t for me.
However i did get my What a long strange trip…back in 2015!
I just did what i had to do and i know i must have died a million times in the pvp stuff… I learned to laugh and just roll with it. I tried my best because i knew once i got that part done i wouldn’t have to do it again!
Same with the cloak quest in Pandaria. I grinned and bared it (is that the saying?)
Who knows maybe someday they will change it, perhaps not we dont know! All i can say is i would rather get it done and over with than wait for them to take the PVP stuff out of those achieves, because that may never happen!
Good Luck OP
Considering this achievement has nothing to do with those aspects of the game? Moot.
Meaning you don’t care then? Fine, so what are you doing here trying to prove otherwise?
Yes, you’re doing a really good job of showing you don’t.
Yes, because I’m totally the only PvE’er out there needing this achieve and doesn’t PvP.
Have a rest, seriously.
Cheers. Your support is astounding.
I’m here trying to tell you to do what we all had to do. That’s the point. There’s nothing wrong with you having to do something you don’t necessarily want for something you do want.
Yes it is. And credit to you for doing what you had to do for something you wanted. You should be an example to the OP, truthfully.
You don’t have to PvP, you just might die a few times. If I don’t feel like PvPing, I just stand there and let them kill me and then move to where I need to be when I am dead and rez right there.
I can’t remember the silvermoon one to be honest but I probably did it on a stealth class anyway.
I actually thought that one the flame was at the front of silvermoon not the back.
The most frustrating this for me on Long Strange Trip was I missed a month due to my senior project at for my engineering degree and didn’t get the monthly brew, so I had to wait another year to get the achievement.
I didn’t have much trouble with silver moon, but the Undercity one had so many horde standing around it it was had to complete it before you died again n
I’ve already grinned and bared it once and I’ll obviously have to do it again. I don’t need an ‘example’.
I THINK that bonfire…oh wait different thing. Nvm I’m of no help, as I cannot remember. lolol /hangs head in shame
Silvermoon’s is all the way in the back.
My point is that there’s still PvP. World PvP, but PvP nonetheless. Being forced into a BG or being forced to flag and run through cities are both PvP.
I’ve had friends who hate PvP finish the Children’s Week PvP easier and faster than they did some of the other holiday PvP requirements. It’s all a matter of perspective on which is easier, but there’s still PvP involved in one way or another.
Near the portal area where you could port to UC, right? Or the OTHER backside?
Grr, now I’m really going to have to look this up just so my wheels will stop turning lolol
I’m going to end up completing this blinkin’ holiday just cause of all the memories, or lack there of, this whole topic has spurred on.
Oh well, it will give me something to actually want to log on and do. Wewt! lol
Is it still PvP when you just stand there and can die then rez where you need to ?
Only your pixels will die. I promise it won’t hurt IRL.
I remember going to try this by myself (hint OP, get a group). I get there and the horde are just waiting. I know I’m going to die, but hey, I’m here now right. So, I start attacking. I’m barely doing any damage, and they’re laughing. One gently pats me, points, and let’s me complete. Then, she promptly destroyed me, lol.
I can’t believe all these years later people still complain about this. Actually scratch that, yes I can.
This one is the hardest for strange trip. But here’s a hint: it really isn’t that hard if you don’t give up. Keep qeueing, and eventually you will get a group of opposing players who will actually help… or at least not get in the way too much. But know you’re going to fail, and die… a lot. The meta is a feat of strength for a reason. It’s not meant for everyone to get it. So when you see that violet proto, you know someone worked for it.
If that sounded elitest, that was not my intent. My point is just grit your teeth and do it. The dreading of it is worse than the actual achievement.
Edit: I got this one done years ago, so if they changed something, I haven’t noticed. I just remember having to keep pounding my head into it until I got it finally, and it took more than a few attempts.
