[School of Hard Knocks] : A Plea

Have you ever seen a thread about Long Strange Trip started by a pvper complaining about the MASSIVE amount of pve involved?

Me either. Stop crying.

Just do it on a low level much easier that at cap

How can you honestly say that? It’s like saying no one’s going to mind you afk the whole dungeon as you follow along.

“Hey guys, just here for the kill at the end. I don’t actually like dungeons.”

PvP’ers who actually care about PvP will not like people like me, stealth afk’ing waiting for the the objective that I…I, I want (notice how it’s for me and not the team?) and then leaving the match promptly after.

How is doing my own thing good for team based play? Times that by how many other people in my position and you’ll have a pretty underwhelming bg. I don’t want to pvp, and I’m not going to do anything bar my own personal objective. It sounds super selfish, but this is what I want to change for the better but then it gets criticized which really baffles me.

You guys would rather support my selfish gameplay. There’s something wrong with that.

I wasn’t too bad a few years ago but I’m older and my dexterity has waned and players mentality in this game has dipped in my opinion. I’m not expecting any help and funnily enough, I don’t blame them.

Well I definitely will on my Rogue or Druid, but I will be stealthed and I’ll just camp my objective.

Looking at your achievements for Pandaria(if you played back that far, doesn’t look like it at least on the character you’re posting on) it doesn’t look like you went after the Legendary Cloak…which you had to win 3 BG’s in order to be able to obtain that very much needed cloak that not only gave you an attribute for your class, but also was the only way you were allowed onto a particular part of the Timeless Isle.

Incorporating BG’s into obtaining something isn’t new. It’s a way to get players to try something they usually don’t do, to obtain something they want. Possibly helping a player realize another part of the game they’ve missed out on that they actually enjoy doing.

If you have already participated in activities that you don’t enjoy, that’s fine too. BUT, if you want that one thing bad enough you’ll end up giving in to it for that one time it’s needed…or decide it isn’t really something worthwhile to you.

BTW this isn’t a dig at you in the least. I wish you all the luck in the world and it sucks sometimes, but like someone else stated it’s a meta achieve, I honestly think a plea like yours will just fall on a blind eye.

You CAN do it!!

A strawman not needed for this argument. If you really care, I can tell you in Battlenet.

What about the other things that have changed though?

Probably because this game is mostly PvE based.

Very productive. Cheers.

I already know, if you have to tell me in battlenet.

Actually started July '06 and caught the tail end of Vanilla. This isn’t the original account but no, I never had the Legendary cape.

Oh that’s right, you’re the one with the crystal ball earlier.

I disagree. Someone afk’ing an entire dungeon is not the same as someone doing D and then leaving if they get what they want. Additionally, this might be a bit of a shock to you, but random bg’s are the absolute bottom of the barrel. They mean nothing. If you leave in the middle of one, it’s no skin off anyone’s back. It certainly wouldn’t be off mine.

This is an example of trying to manipulate people into your cause. You won’t succeed. Get over it, and get in there.

More manipulation. No, my friend. This is me telling you suck it up, and do the same thing everyone else did, and stop trying to weasel your way out of it.

Coulda fooled me with how you’re trying to manipulate and weasel your way out of something.

Oh no!! I know a few ppl who started in 04 and 05 and for whatever reason lost their accounts and had to start over. Sorry 'bout that.
I also added something in to my original post to you that I hope you will catch. I don’t wanna come off as a jerk b/c I honestly wasn’t trying to be.

Doesn’t take a crystal ball to know if someone is spamming carries on trade and they have to discuss it on skype to know it is something that is against the rules.

Btw, I do not recommend you do that at all. Game will auto vkick you now with that glorious 15 min debuff. lol

I thought Midsummer Fire Festival had PvP requirements too?

I agree with you, it’s an infuriating requirement. Took me 3 years to get it because I was lousy at pvp/battlegrounds and the sight of that orphan out in WSG had the opposition players on me like flies at a picnic.

I finally managed to get it with the help of guildies but by the time I was done I was stressed out, and anything that causes that much stress isn’t really fun at all. I, for one, would not be averse to seeing it changed or removed. However, people have been asking for that for years and it has fallen on deaf ears. So don’t like your chances.

They can happily mess up things like the Water Strider mount and flying, but not replace an old, frustrating achievement with something more fun. It’s hard to figure.

Not sure if you have to do any bg’s but it definitely requires you to go into opposing faction cities and areas to desecrate their fires.

This is the key to doing this. Doing it with the help of others. If you are trying to do it solo and don’t pvp then it will be frustrating to do. It becomes very easy to do with a little help though and that is why I don’t think blizzard should change it.

The fire crown achiev isn’t part of the Meta?

Let me state im awful at pvp an the year i did this achoevement i was really worried i wouldnt be able to do this but it turned out to be super easy. Just use a low level character in full looms with enchants you will knock it out in a night

It is part of the flame warden but it really doesn’t require PVP and you definitely don’t get sent into bgs unless you are talking about something else.

I’ve honestly not participated in all of the fire festival activities, but completely forgot about that one. I don’t remember if it’s part of the meta either. I just remember having to go into opposing faction cities and areas to put out their bonfires.

Unless you can sneak through cities, it does require world PvP. Getting to the back of Silvermoon was never easy.
