Scarlett Johannson

We don’t know that. Just because a plantif claims something, doesn’t mean it’s true. I haven’t read her entire contract and I doubt has anyone else aside from her and Disney’s lawyers.

Haha im eating at the same time. I kinda forget stuff then read back what i wrote and im like Hey im missing part

All too often I do the same  then rush to edit it in a panic before anyone reads it so they get the whole message.

Whelp, i guess that’ll be the last time we’ll ever see Jo on Disney.

That was my first thought, but after about 2010, who wouldn’t put streaming services in a contract? We’d be surprised. (Kind of like actors who take a percent of profit instead of gross and then are surprised that accountants make the project lose money on paper.)

Not sure u understand how a break of contract is. Like u say we only seel your stuff in every malls and u only get money out of it. And behind your back they sell your stuff online and dont pay you for your work. They 1 broke a contract with u 2 steal from u and quite sure you would sue them too

true, we do only have her side at the moment. but there isnt anything absurd here, a theatrical release for a AAA multi million dollar movie is pretty standard and they say they had a clause to ensure it was released as such. That being said im sure disney has the best lawyers money can buy and im sure they are fantastic at slipping in loop holes. time will tell.

If a contract is broken you can still work it out behind closed doors. Going to court is when you are done with the company/person.

not to get political or anything, but scarlett johansson has starred in several movies

Well if u read the article quite sure u didnt. It say she tried and they ignored her so thats why she is suing them

I watched a spoiler on Black Widow and it looks like hot garbage. Disney probably figured it was worth it to get sued to try to make some money off people subbing to D+.

we will never know the truth, Scarlett Johannson is the only one sueing (none of her costars are sueing), being the only one out of hundreds of staff members… for all we know she made ridiculous demands.

Quite sure a Main star that act as visual and Public image of a movie dont have same contract as other back stage actor

I laughed when I read the story.

The number I’ve been seeing is $50 million.

Talk about first world problems. How many more yachts and mansions do you need, lady?

Movies forum is that way. :point_right:

Yeah Ignore Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Olga Kurylenko, William Hurt, Ray Winstone, and Rachel Weisz… all back stage actors right…

Meh, who cares what hollywood weirdos do.

Disney issued the following response to the suit:

There is no merit whatsoever to this filing. The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Disney has fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract and furthermore, the release of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date.
