Yeah it is actually
What things are you unable to get crafted for you?
That’s an exploit and they should have banned people for that the same way they ban people for multi-dipping on other things.
It’s clearly an unintended loophole created by an unpredicted (but very predictable - so shame on them for not shutting it down) player behavior.
A lot of even the green professions tools/accessories for TWW are so expensive I’ve even stuck to keeping some of my blue DF ones. At least I have them already and they give some benefit. Which is crazy; its like saying a player keeps their last expansion gear because the current stuff is so overpriced.
And it shouldn’t be that way. We shouldn’t be tied down by a currency like AA preventing us from taking advantage of items available now, its just the worst sort of throttling for no clear purpose behond yet another time metric effort to make people keep logging on in hope of getting a dribble more.
That’s because the Dragonflight revamp cranked the mats requirements up to 11 without a commensurate increase in supply.
Alchemists suddenly needing Jewelcrafters to make vials with Mining resources, for example.
But Blizzard’s been cranking up mats requirements while ratcheting down yields, since Legion.
This is also something I would agree with heavily. Material ranks seem to be a bridge too far for casual play. It’s particularly bad because I can tell at a glance that some devs actually put a signficant amount of time engineering the math of all of the professions calculating craft success rates depending on material quality. There are a subset of players who probably really like this sort of thing (me), but even I would admit that it’s excessive for players who just like gathering things casually.
Having crafted gear ranks depending on your unique skill builds, this is good. Needing spreadsheets to do cost benefit analysis to determine how many gold materials and silver materials you need in combination to max craft along with how many reaourcefulness procs you need to turn a profit is just annoying.
The entire WoW economy is designed on the assumption that farming bots exist.
This is also true. I cant imagine how disastrously expensive everything would be without bot farmers.
costs would equalize once people aren’t selling X ore for 10k each.
over time you will be able to craft the 619 wrists
I could have crafted the wrists yesterday, if I wanted to.
Time gating is what they did with Icecrown Citadel, where the last wing didn’t open up until 2 months after the raid started.
What you guys are complaining about are choices; specifically, that choices exist, rather than you being able to do everything, everywhere, all at once.
I wouldn’t be able to fulfill the patron work orders without the extra gold from WoW tokens.
So in a sense, the devs have devised a system to tempt players into buying Acuity through WoW tokens.
The new patron work orders system also results in countless mats and finished products being deleted from the economy rather than put into the hands of players, which keeps mat prices high and necessitates the need for WoW tokens in a vicious cycle.
This is what I don’t understand. I see so many people saying this or something like it, and I don’t understand how your patron orders can require tens of thousands of gold. I don’t spend any gold on patron orders. I can do most of them with what I have on hand from the crafting of the things.
Is this exclusive to like tailoring and enchanting or what?
They don’t do any gathering.
Well, that’s just silly. /nod
Regardless of if you farm your own materials or buy them, you are still trading off gold to do patron orders, because you could have sold those materials that you farmed for gold.
Yea, I didn’t realise how time gated it would be so I rushed straight to making proff tools at the highest quality I could so I could snag that early expac Proff tool rush.
No one has the spare acuity to craft their damn tools. Lol
I can say that Tailoring has been the most extreme for me so far. I currently have about 5 orders in the queue that require from 4 to 8 pieces of Dusk/Dawnweave each… and most also require decent amounts of the Dusk/Dawn thread.
The auction house value on the materials would run roughly 7k to 10k for each order, so yeah, I am going to be missing out on some points.
The Irony of mettle in WW as opposed to DF is that in the latter, mettle very quickly became completely worthless; like you wound up with so much of it that unless you were going bonkers with crafting orders you weren’t ever going to run out.
By comparison, in WW I’m grabbing every god damn order I can to try and squeeze just a little more out so I can afford stuff on top of the actual cost of the proffesion tools (some of which are ridiculous; 5 null stones is going to cost somewhere around 25k on my server and I need those to craft a lot of proffesion tools).
Like, maybe we can bring back those two lovebirds who gave out free mettle?
I just stopped crafting. It’s one thing I absolutely love to take part in and I gave it a solid few weeks of trying but this system is just straight doo doo. Wanna be a master of something? Perfect! Just sacrifice 85% of the other half of your profession to do so! Want to make those boots! We’ll step right up and spend all your acuity on the recipe OR wear green profession equipment! Such marvelous choices we have! Hard pass I’m done lol.
