100% true in MOP I could solo 10 heroic or 25 normal Alysrazor easily and once WOD arrive I couldn’t even do 10 normal.
Yep I know it 100% sucks, I was the same after WoD and after Legion in BFA pre-patch it was an absolute fun breaker for me, so what I did is merely unsub and wait until the expansion truly launch.
I will admit that I am not playing retail right now Shadowland was enough to made me quit for Classic WoW and hearing what people say maybe it is truly horrible after all since I though it was only solo content but if even leveling dungeons were messed up to the point of making them unplayable? What the hell?
I do remember WoD pre-patch being kind of messed up with leveling dungeons too certain boss in dungeon had a MASSIVE amount of HP and were taking like 5-10+ minutes to take down and even the trash mobs were hitting like trucks and were taking a long time to beat down.
I believe those were bugs, but at least they were patched in short order. I did solo alysrazor for a level 85 friend back in WoD prepatch and i had 0 issues, though it was like a week after pre-patch launched. I didnt notice anything off either. I do recall some weird bugs in WoD prepatch release, but most of them were related to leveling content, in the sense that 40-89 mobs were overtuned with large hp pools, which was fixed within days. Another similar bug did pop as a result of the above fix though, where mobs with a resource bar were suddenly meleeing about 5 times more than before. It was also patched in short order.
They key difference is that they were obvious bugs and were patched really quickly, to the point i didnt really notice them in many cases. Here not only its noticeable, but its also intended if the SL prepatch 9.0 is to go by, where they never fixed older content at all, and are happy with screwing you over if you could solo it before.
It doesn’t stop there. Even current content ended up inexplicably buffed. https://www.wowhead.com/npc=158406/scunner
471k hp, as it should be in 9.2.7. But now?
707k. Yes, on same toon with same gear, he got a MASSIVE HP increase. It’s everywhere, and its screwed. It basically ruined even current content.
Which bosses? There are a lot of Chromie Time bosses that were overtuned even before the Dragonflight prepatch, like Helya in Maw of Souls (and really everything else in the entire dungeon), the last boss from Auchenai Crypts (who uses an ability that is almost guaranteed to one-shot the target unless they pop a very powerful defensive cool down—and the target is random, with a very short cast time), etc.
Its almost as if they boosted every monsters to balance the boost we get from the new talent trees to make sure we feel weaker than before like they seem to do every single new expansion. lol
It’s the first time that current content gets massively buffed on purpose like this. Even 9.0 patch didn’t actually do it with BFA content and if it was, it was patched in short order. No patch nor word over what the hell is happening that so much content got buffed, even one other prepatches didnt buff at all.
The bright side is that we have discovered that player testing is the best way to obtain accurate info than wait for a gaming website to “report” something.
When in doubt just test it yourself. That is what I do!
To be honest thats why i wanted Beta access, i didnt care about the dragon isles or the talent trees or anything else in the new content besides the Evokers. I knew Blizzard would have plenty of people foaming at the mouth to test that stuff. I wanted to test the old content and the Evokers.
Wow those articles really gaslighting everyone, ever since that reddit post came out and a couple websites picked it up the conversation just died even though crap was false.
Been running BFA Freehold for the mount and it has been a while but I can seem to remember on Mythic 0, Harlan Sweete had under 300K HP, now he is over 500K.
Even to the naked eye the Elisande Nighthold Raid has more HP, and I just sat there thinking why is this taking soo long to kill.
Yeah, would love if they cared about this kind of stuff as much as the players do. I mean really, how hard is it to respond to this problem and say we are going to fix it. I mean all they gotta do is slap an insane buff on people and boom problem solved. For the most part anyway, there are some bosses that have mechanics that cause issues for soloing.
The implications seems to be that they don’t want to fix it at all, so they ignore people and hope they will shut up and play. It’s blatantly broken but it looks like it’s how Ion and the rest of the devs want it to be.
Unless I’m proven wrong, basically we know now that Microsoft has a lot of cleaning to do once they take over Actiblizz.
