Commenting for reach. I made a separate post about this on the PTR forum before patch went live.
I went back and reread all the communication about the tier sets for this season. In my opinion, there is absolutely no way to misinterpret any of the Blizzard communication and not assume that the appearances that PvE players and PvP players voted on would not apply to both PvE and PvP.
I was already worried that end of xpac, SoD, and Data would depress participation this season, especially coming off the heels of S3 which already had severe participation problems.
I know itâs anecdotal, but pretty much all of my PvP circle is now not going to play this season because there are no appearances outside of the small handful of us that will try for glad.
I think this is an extremely low effort opportunity for Blizz to give a +1 to the PvP community - I donât even think we are asking for something additional. We are asking for what was communicated through the tier voting to actually be put in the game.
Blizzard asked the community to vote for tier set appearances
We voted
The winning appearances are not in the game
Ex. Blizzard announced Season 1 set appearances won. Patch goes live - we have Season 3 appearances.
Your reply doesnât make any sense, and I donât see how it contributes to the topic at all.
If someone says they are going to do something (ESPECIALLY a business you are giving money to), you assume/expect the product or service to be provided.
Yes, you are correct. We can get the non-elite set if we wait 9 weeks for catalyst charges and elect to use them for cosmetics.
That method of acquisition (and the complete lack of any method of acquisition for the elite sets) is different than other seasons and PvE. If PvE is functioning exactly how it has the first 3 seasons in terms of how to acquire the appearances through drops on difficulties, why is PvP suddenly different? It seems like an oversight.
I mean, its literally the same acquisition method as pve except for the fact that they can still obtain the non tier armor sets from the raid, something they couldâve done regardless. If only amirdrassil was available as an awakened raid, then it would be exactly the same as pvp. However, raiders get all 3 raids which isnât really something that can be replicated for pvp.
It may have been unclear when I described it briefly, but here is what I was trying to convey:
In previous seasons, killing bosses in PvE on different difficulties grants different appearances. In PvP, you get the non-elite appearance when you buy a conquest piece, and the elite appearance at certain ratings.
In Season 4, you get the voted-on tier set appearances for killing bosses on different difficulties in PvE. In PvP, you donât get the appearance for the voted-on appearance for non-elite sets from buying the item. You have to wait 9 weeks for charges, and thatâs assuming that you want to destroy your stat priority when catalyzing. On top of it, there is no elite appearance.
Only if you get the item with its appearance as a drop, or you get tier. If your class has the s1 set in season 4, you are not going to get any season 1 appearances from either aberrus or amirdrassil. PVP is similar, except its always in amirdrassil.
Because the S4 appearance vote did affect PvP in the same way it does for PvE. All dropped gear remains exactly the same while gear catalyzed into tier will obtain the voted on apperance.
