It’s a bit weird to call something an RPPvP event when it doesn’t look like they have a co-participant on the Alliance side tho Dawn. Propaganda isn’t out of the norm, but there’s not much to go on with his posting to hint that this is a RPPvP event made in good faith.
I enjoy Ravens shenanigans and all that stuff, but the constant threads between folks just defending or raiding a capital city is bit tiresome. In terms of ‘smack talk’ there’s a difference between the “Horde/Alliance is weak!” and folks actually targeting Horde/Alliance players. I’m not going to police them, but I’ll suggest them stick to a single thread at the very least.

We have a term for posting the same thread over and over to the forums with no substantial change in content. It’s an actionable offense, actually, but I somehow suspect enforcement of that wouldn’t go over well.
I’ll save everyone a couple hundred posts of dancing around the point and just state it outright: historically, PvPers haven’t really cared that much that most of what I do in the game is something that I enjoy, so I don’t feel obligated to be overly charitable toward their version of having fun.
But that’s not even the point. Ravenhul shouldn’t let my personal coldness toward PvP culture deter him from running PvP events; quite the opposite. It’s just that, if you’re going to post your event in a public forum for the public to view, we should maybe think out the logical consequences of that event or explicitly say “we’re glossing over BfA because it stomps on the fun we want to have.”
God knows I do it all the time. I just don’t see how, if we’re taking BfA as it happened, that we can have Horde vs. Alliance events all the time, but never Horde vs. Horde duel events, or something like that.

The biggest reason I think folks are getting sour over this is the ‘assaults’ aren’t server canon, they’re never going to be server canon, and we’ve had a few too many ‘server-lagging’ raids formed for no other reason than to lag the server and ruin other people’s fun.
World PvP is fine. City raids are fine. But please stop pretending that the current crop of nonsense is anything other than what it is. The last flailing of a PvP crowd seeing the narrative that encouraged mindless aggression and hostility between the Megafactions dying in a ditch.

Yeah, I guess that’s sort of the other aspect of this.
I’ve never really gotten the impression that these kinds of events lead to something bigger. They don’t really seem to be part of an overarching RP-PvP campaign, and the content of them doesn’t change over time. None of the characters seem to experience self-doubt or acknowledge setbacks.
You sort of get the impression that Ravenhul (the character) is an especially patriotic serial killer, rather than an actual warrior fighting on behalf of the Horde. But if that’s the case, then he sort of needs an equally visible Batman to his Joker.

Then report it if it is the same thread, but I mean they’re just 5 or 6 threads it is not like it is real actual spamming that prevents people from seeing the forums as a whole. You also can see what the thread is going to be about by the title alone, you don’t have to read them. I don’t look at threads that don’t hold an interest to me or are relevant to any RP I am involved with.
I mean that’s fair. To be honest I don’t, I literally have no idea what you do in game and I don’t care either. Not saying that in a mean way. it is just outside the threads I see you in I have literally no idea who you are or what you do and it is none of my business either.
At least you’re honest. I know you don’t like it and I know from past threads we have strong opposing takes on PvP. I suppose my feeling on it is you’re sharing the server with people who do enjoy it on both sides. I get it is annoying when people attack a city you’re in and RPing on but the server doesn’t just belong to you or me. It belongs to them as well.
This I have no idea, I guess because it is easier? You can just flag up and attack the Alliance in readily accessible areas where as FFA PvP spots are less accessible. But I have no real idea of why that is TBH, I know we -used- to have dueling tournaments and stuff.

I have strong feelings on the cross server stuff. I hate all of it and it, the group finder and CRZ should of never been put in the game.

Being flagged in Cities should be completely 100% separate from being not flagged in Cities.
End of story, I dont really understand why its not.
BFA’s story was hot garbage and that is the end of that. If someone wants to stage an attack on the opposing faction nothing should stop them from doing so. And the reason that we can’t have this restricted to a single thread is because every time we have a thread about pvp or some other topic; the people don’t like the idea of pvp immediately derail it into off topic nonsense and bickering to distract away from any real discussion.
Do you pay attention to events run by horde players or are you just saying that for more points? There used to be dueling tournaments. There used to be d20 tourneys run by horde. I don’t see as many but I’m sure there still are. Just because you aren’t seeing these events doesn’t mean they are not happening.
