In the intro to Vanilla, they basically said 4 years had past since Warcraft 3 and “the tenuous pact between Alliance and Horde has all but evaporated. The drums of war thunder once more.”

I dunno, it’s pretty clear cut that from the very start, Vanilla was meant to embrace conflict between the Alliance and the Horde… or at least give you the choice to. Standard RP server, all you can really choose is which emote you use to show your disdain for someone on the other side.

With all the great things that stem from wpvp, I’d rather risk getting gank/camped and be able to have all that wpvp goodness.
You get to meet so many great people you’d have otherwise not known.

I don’t know, i find it pretty tough for a race of folk who just genocided half a content, then get enslaved then fight off a demon army to just go “You know what? Things happen we all good. Oh what’s that? A standing army AND NAVY is about to wipe out our city? So we gotta go kill these fools again? Well, it’s all good.” Probably an Orc POV, but you also gotta count in how much political sway there was at the time, very little. As well as the Alliance’s made i’m pretty sure the night elves aren’t all that okay with there Demi-god getting 1V1 pwnd by Grom. But who know’s. I could keep going but you get the point. Old hatreds die hard, IRL even backs this up haha,

Not saying you don’t got a point but I’m pretty sure you’re giving a bit to much credit to fantasy politics.

Another selfish reason for wanting just one RP-PvP realm at Classic Launch: It’ll have the best faction balance in all of Classic WoW.

I’m already seeing all of these people talking about how Alliance should just roll on PvE servers because Horde will dominate PvP servers and there will be a clear faction imbalance or what not.

Well, back when RP-PvP servers were actually a thing on Retail WoW, they were the most balanced servers ever, never going beyond a 55%-45% ratio at WORST.

If we can just get one RP-PvP server, it’ll probably have the best WPvP of all Classic WoW, not only because of storylines and what not conducted between RP-PvP guilds, but also because we RP-PvPers will have just one place to go for ourselves, and we’ll fill up our server to the brim on both factions.

Just a thought. God we need our server at launch. We really, really do. Begging ya here, Blizz.

The issue is more too many RP servers. It’s a niche hobby, so when it starts dying people just congregate to the most populous one.

Moon Guard is one of, if not the, most populated realm in the game because it’s where all the RPers congregate, other popular servers being WrA and ED. If you have just a few RP servers they’ll probably have a better lifespan than the non-RP ones simply because its content that isn’t dependent much on the progression of the game. One RP-PvP server would likely be pretty healthy. If you made 10? Yeah not so much.

One is all we ask for at the start and we can go from there. Two would be nice so we can all play both factions but, baby steps.

I don’t know if I even want to play if I can’t play on an RP-PvP realm. My best memories came from playing on Emerald Dream.

It’s a toss up for me for sure. On the one hand, I think I’ll give it a try at least, if nothing else because I’ve been super bored lately and looking for a game to sink my time into.

But if I’m not playing on an RP-PvP server, I don’t see my time in Classic WoW lasting more than a few months at most. =/

I would like to stand with you on that. But it’s been so long, not going to lie, don’t think I could. I’ll take a PvP server if there’s no option for RP-PvP. But I’d prefer RP-PvP by a landslide. The best people are there.
