Mechagon is boring. The entire randomness of it is not something I care for. Naz is also boring. It’s just more time gated rep stuff.
Things being locked behind rep has been a thing since forever, and in my personal opinion feels more natural than a hard time gate, so to me Nazjatar is an improvement. I agree with the part about randomness though, RNG gets old real quick if there’s too much of it.
Chores. More chores. Not good gameplay, and requires looking everything up on thrid party sites to figure out what to do.
I’m still wondering how they expect players to get 90k gold a piece for the gryphon mounts.
Selling one cursed item gave me 700g.
Seems legit. Did all the quests in Nazjatar and Mechagon for like 3 days and only made like 5k gold
One of my favorite patches ever. Probably just behind 5.2, which will probably never be beat because I love Lei Shen and the mogu too much.
Mechagon and Naz’jatar are both beautifully designed zones and I’m loving the stories so far (and like what I read about what’s to come from the ptr).
My only real complaint is having to do the intros for Naz’jatar, Mechagon, and Essences on all of my alts. Don’t get me wrong, I love Sapphy and Crizzek, and organizing the goblin union was fun (I promised them a beach party) but a lot of the intros amount to running around and it gets tedious after you’ve done it a few times. It would be nice if I get get my alts directly to exploring the zones and doing daily tasks.
Kind of my problem with the new zones and especially Nazjatar is that it feels very time gated. If I want to farm pearls or companion experience I should be able to.
I log on and do the dailies and there really isn’t anything time efficient that I can do
I would farm rares or scavenge for chests but I don’t like the layout of the zone so I’d rather wait for flying
please pack in more mobs and add more monotonous quests it’s really fun.
And some of the mobs dont even drop loot, lmao
Mob density is too high. Some of the quests are… not great. Getting 10 starfish was pretty awful with the ~15-30min spawn timer for each one. Please increase the spawn rate on days with the quest drastically, add more spawns, or reduce the amount needed. Also… phasing making some of them impossible to get needs to get fixed.
Nazjatar feels like it was designed with flying in mind, but… we don’t have flying. The mob density in both zones feels like they forgot we didn’t have flying to skip over them with no risk, especially with how much damage some of the mobs do and all the nets they throw out.
Rep farm feels like its going to take way too long with how few dailies/world quests there are in the zones, and there’s a bit too much RNG just in getting access to some things.
We need alternative ways to get rep instead of just world quests. Killing Naga in nazjatar should give rep with the respective faction for your faction. Killing mechs in mechagon should give mechagon rep. Sure, this means some players will abuse it and AoE farm with a group, but… that’s better than not having the option at all, and it would make the mob density less of an issue.
Also: Anyone else had a bug where whenever they complete a Tortollen WQ, all of the mobs in the area immediately aggro? It’s been a consistent issue for me since the patch.
I’ve found Nazjatar to be a boring slog. The terrain is unpleasant and the follower you have to drag around is irritating.
Mechagon is better, but it seems there are only a handful of daily / world quests in each zone and then there is nothing much to do.
The Gnome heritage armor is nice as was the quest chain to get it. That and the Crossroads cinematic were very good.
The story seems full of holes and nonsensical most of the time. Azshara has multiple chances to kill us and holds back for reasons that are not explained.
But in the past there was more to do. It wasn’t just one zone. BC had netherwing, the dudes with the manta rays, and more. MOP had multiple factions. There wasn’t just one single area where you were only allowed to be to grind rep. Naz is boring IMO. I am keeping my sub simply to wait for Classic.
Oh yeah for sure, the lack of content in this expansion is real. I just want to emphasize the point about TBC having more to do by saying that the dev team was probably like 1/3rd the size that it is now, yet somehow they managed to give us more content than what we get in BFA. Anyone at Blizzard want to explain that?
What am I up to? Playing a different game while watching the slow motion train wreck that is General Discussion.
If you thought this thread would go in a positive direction you haven’t been paying attention for about a year now.
You give us the same, you’ll get the same feedback.
Absolute garbage.
I’m glad you asked, and I hope you’re still reading the feedback.
- It feels like a chore
- The quests are too hard, and not rewarding enough for the effort required to complete them.
- This isn’t Dark Souls - if I want to play a game that hard, I’ll turn off WoW and go play Dark Souls instead
- You shouldn’t have pushed this on your casual players - keep the hard stuff in the raids and in Mythic difficulty where it belongs
- If I wanted a challenging, less rewarding version of WoW, I’d go play Classic
- This is a bad patch so far, gameplay wise
- The story/lore is good - but the content is too hard and not rewarding enough for the effort required to do it
That’s how my experience has been so far. It’s honestly made me question why I even play this game. I hope you’re listening to the feedback here, even when it isn’t what you’re wanting to hear. You can be deaf to what I’m saying, and I can unsubscribe and quit playing WoW if you are. In a way, I guess you’d be doing me a favor - cuz then I’d finally be free from this game.
General Discussion is the best WoW gamemode.
Reading the comment here summarizes the experience so far
- Class design is still sh%$
- More in-store mounts than any point in WoW’s history. Gotta sucker those people with the cosmetic items. Reminds me of an episode from Black Mirror.
- Better MMOs/games/companies to invest time and effort into.
At this point the best thing the WoW team can do is hope they’ll still have a job after Q2 financial earning reports.
Nazjatar and Mechagon feel like everything else that the devs try to do in this game, which is make you waste time. I literally just wander around looking for rares, which hardly spawn, and do a few quests that might pop up. So in essence I’m just wandering around aimlessly, doing a few meaningless quests if they’re there.
8.2 is the worst expansion ever, absolute crap. Locking flying behind weeks (or months) of frustrating, buggy, pointless grinding is ridiculous. This is more like a job than a game Blizz, really, fix your s#$@!!!
Having gotten further into it now, I can say that I did rather enjoy busting Baine out, though the fight was a bit frustrating. The fireball attack casts too quickly to allow you to disable the crystals without interruption, and that mob isn’t targetable till you reach a certain point in the scenario. I had to resort to Aspect of the Turtle to get it done.
The scene shared by Baine, Jaina, and Thrall was actually quite touching. Kudos for bringing back a little bit of _Feel_craft with that.
Naz is growing on me-getting strong Subnautica/Vash’jir flashbacks (which is a good thing for me), though it is still a pain to navigate, and will remain so until I unlock flight, I’m sure. Whether that was by design or not, I don’t appreciate it. The more difficult it is to get around a zone, the less time I’m gonna spend there.
Please adjust spawn rates for carp kicking and starfish collecting quests. When not on these quests, the required items are everywhere, but as soon as you get the quest, they are so few and far between you’re lucky to find enough to finish the quest before you have to end your play session.
Mechagon is…mildly interesting? I might be more excited if it wasn’t going to be yet another grindfest. At least the mech mods and items may be worth collecting.
