I think this is the best analogy I can make: work has been slow for the past few months and everything I do is just going through the motions. Then my boss comes up to me and tells me we’re being audited by the IRS and we have to do retroactive work on the Y2K glitch because, turns out, 19 years later it’s a real thing after all. But it’s ok, because the cafeteria still serves the same meatloaf that has the consistency and flavor of nuclear sludge.
Terrible… Just Terrible. Waiting for Classic.
I’m still on Nazjatar, having fun! I do believe I’m a minority when I say I enjoy the mini games For a hot minute I thought Pathfinder Part 2 said we only had to get reps to honored so I got super super excited. I should have known it would be revered but for a split second it was a sweet surprise, lol. I still don’t much care for the HoA, but I’m at the point of not caring if it…gets…better. That sounds bad but it’s nice that I can just ignore it if I want (I don’t high end raid or anything).
To keep it short…er. The only thing I honestly don’t care about in WoW is the classes. When I log onto any of the classes I have, I just feel like they’re missing something. They all feel very similar to eachother? Can’t put my finger on it yet. One thing I REALLY miss is motw .
ANYWHO, I’m going to enjoy the patch and take my time with it (busy girl). Thanks for all the awesome mounts and the hard work put into Nazjatar (haven’t seen Mechagon yet).
I played it a bit more today and it’s softening my mood on the lack of underwater areas. The big five things that are annoying and honestly making this entire area more of a chore than enjoyable are.
1.) Events / Dailies. More needed, and more needed.
2.) Kill the Sharding on this area. (No one ever has or ever will like it or accept it.)
3.) Rares need to show up on the map. Someone will make a addon if you don’t fix this.
4.) Unshackled / Ankoans need to get exp. from doing regular World Quests with the players.
5.) Bounty Materials like Angel Scale Starfish need to be available for everyone. Not first come first serve. Mobs need to respawn a LOT faster. There is so much poaching going on it’s stupid.
honestly, boring. The only reason i am even playing the new zones is to get flying. I can’t even finish both area’s today because it is just so boring. So tired of the same old grind, day after day. Our guild doesn’t even bother doing anything together anymore and we used to be pretty hot and heavy. I do most of the world quests as going through the motions . Miss the excitement, miss the fun
Terrible, I like to play with warmode on, but it is not advantageous to do so as an Alliance player. What was the old joke people used to throw around, “World of Roguecraft”? Now, it’s “World of Hordecraft.” Blizzard fostered a nomenclature that it’s a Horde players game and that is shining through and through in 8.2.
I stopped playing it really. It’s not fun. It’s not engaging. It’s very boring. Classes are not fun, essences are bland and a obvious band aid. The terrain design is atrocious and meant to slow you down to increase time played. The story feels like bad fanfic. 8.2 is a complete failure for me.
A bit letdown by it all but to be fair I had really high expectations. I think it’s good for what it is, providing new content to explore. It’s a bit more of a challenge to traverse.
For me, it’s going to be more about where things go after this than right now. There’s good and bad/exciting and disappointing currently, I don’t think it’s all bad or all good it’s just right now somewhere in the “decent” range. I think things are decent right now but things are at a crossroads. Depending on which path is taken going forward is what’s going to have the most impact on me as a whole.
The zones are amazing in theme, the content from Mechagon is unique, yet falls short. There’s nothing related to gear catch up in the zone, making the zone feel optional, outside of getting Revered.
Nazjatar, however. While the music and aesthetics are nice, the questing in the zone feels completely atrocious. You spend between 2-4 hours trying to gather something in the zone only to get approx 50 rep for that quest. It makes feeling like getting flying isn’t worth it. If quests are going to be like this in the future, I feel like I don’t want to be apart of it. Flying or not.
Yes it could have have been and should have been nice and powerful.
What a load of malarky you are pushing.
This is why PvP ruins PvE. If not for PvP we would have very nice things for PvE. But since PvP exists we have nothing but garbage nonstop in the PvE portion of the game.
To be fair, nuclear sludge meatloaf makes the best sloppy joes.
Maybe I haven’t progressed far enough and a portal will be somewhere else, but having to run to that damn sub every time is just a pain…
What we needed was for Azshara to throw so many Naga at us so constantly that we were constantly falling back, unsure how we were going to gain ground or have time to rest and evaluate our options.
I don’t mean have lots of tight packs of respawns who just stand around. I mean make actual mechanics where there is a push and pull between two opposing armies that are colliding. As the Alliance and Horde are already depleted from their constant wars on multiple continents and multiple planets they should now have a much harder time fighting back against the Naga who while lacking the technological and magical superiority more than makeup for it in sheer numbers and ability to replace their losses.
If not that then something. But a zone that is just a few WQs and dailies with a couple of densely packed respawns who just randomly stand around at random points of the map with no purpose for no reason was not the way to go.
The map is tiny and no side appears to have a reason for continuing to be here.
it’s also VERY convenient that both the Horde and Alliance fleet just happened to be about to engage each other over this one tiny patch of ocean that Azshara just happened to be near with the Tide Stone.
The anti teleportation plot device not only made no sense but was instantly alleviated the moment it was brought up as a problem. And now the writers have shot themselves in the foot because we are going to ask why no one else has ever blocked teleportation before and how exactly teleportation can be blocked in the first place and why people can’t undo the anti teleportation by applying anti backspin tachyon pulses?
You’ve manage to take a Terrible lackluster expansion and make it 10times worse, clap
I’m literally siting at a Starfish node waiting for it to respawn over and over cuz hunting for it is not a valid option. Can’t wait to get the 50 rep for this quest that took HOURS to complete.
Your Pers in charge of quest development should all be fired, they are terrible.
As soon as I unlock flying the only reason to ever go back to mech/Naj will be for the dungeon/raid. I’m so glad you guys “hyped” 8.2.
The content of 8.2 is rather nice, but there’s not enough of it. In the past three days since the patch hit, it’s usually only taken an hour or two to finish all of the WQ’s and dailies in both Nazjatar and Mechagon, and there’s not really anything worthwhile to do afterwards. Sure, rares exist, but they die too quickly to want to go hunt them down.
I do have issues with the gearing system, as the upcoming ilvl upgrades (and normal + heroic raid gear) coming in Season 3 aren’t going to measure up to Benthic gear being upgradeable to such a high ilvl, and we get a trinket we’re meant to hold onto for a long while at the start of Mechagon, leaving only four slots that can reasonably be upgraded by doing mythics, LFR, and Normal, and only five slots that will actually be ilvl upgrades from Heroic, and if PvP gear was worth getting before, it’s most certainly not now. All that, combined with tier gear being nonexistant, largely invalidates raiding’s potential rewards.
That’s my take on 8.2 at the moment. Fun content but not enough of it, Benthic gear going so high is a mistake.
Miserable! Logged in at 7:30 and spent four hours in Nazjatar attempting to find 3 rares to kill and loot 10 starfish most of which were phasing in and out. I gave up! Only completed 2 of the daily quests that I picked up and finally just quit and logged out. Kill quests are a lot of fun with packs of people tagging everything in the area and the respawn rate mind numbingly low. I feel like the whole point of Nazjatar is just to keep me online forever and a day giving me feeling of having something to do without the satisfaction of completing it. All of which just results in frustration and an overwhelming desire to just not log in.
New content feels tedious. Nazjatar isn’t easy to navigate and feels empty.
Horde always wins the PVP event. You guys implemented world PVP much better with the world quest war zones. I dont understand why you’d mess it up for Nazjatar, especially when you’ve had previous successes.
Nazjatar itself is a bit of a mess. First off, it’s just an Argus reskin, which feels very lazy. Second, it feels really hard to navigate. A daily quest hub should feel fun and fluid, and I do not get that with Naz. Thirdly, mob density may be fun for AOE focused classes, but on my rogue it’s a pain to deal with such thick density of mobs, which leads to my last point being . . . scaling feels terrible in this zone, with me never feeling an increase to power even when I’m getting gear upgrades.
I wish I had more positive feedback, but it feels like you guys are not very enthusiastic about your game, and it shows. I dont know why this is happening, but WoW has to do some real soul searching to get subs back in.
If you make content fun and rewarding . . . you’ll get more people play. Right now you’re making everything very frustrating for the player, and that’s really a shame because I know you are all capable of making amazing content.
Good luck.
I’m bored. I’m not sure what you guys are doing. I’m glad some people are enjoying the game and having fun, but i’m not. It’s such a Theme park mmo at this point. it’s just not fun or rewarding, and no i don’t mean give me more mounts and toys and crap. those aren’t meaningful rewards, those are short sharp hits of dopamine, and at this point we’ve built a tolerance to those hits.
Where is the player agency ? where is character customization ? Where is the working your butt off for a while to get a sweet piece of gear and cherishing that gear for the rest of the patch ? So now, once the new season starts, i have to farm the same gear for a 3rd time ?
WoW Development team is so lost right now. This game is so lost right now. I really hope you guys can pave a road to make this game as enjoyable as it used to be. but i truly feel that you have no idea what players like anymore, and yes i realize there’s 50 different groups of players that all want different things.
At this point the only thing holding this game together is the social bonds. They are the glue that keeps this broken vase together.
ps: give us more dungeons man. this is silly.
so. much. this. I have ZERO desire to log in to this game right now because I know the dailies are going to be torturous.
It’s decent so far i guess, but nowhere near the quality of other patches such as 4.2, 5.2 or more recently, 7.3. It’s obvious that a large portion of the quests were designed around the time played metric that you (blizzard) are so obsessed over. Your only metric of success should but fun had, not time played. Also if people are having fun, they will play more.
Nazjatar is super annoying to navigate without flying, and appears to be made almost entirely out of reused assets from Azsuna, Suramar, and Vashj’ir. At a glance it looks great but once you realize how much is reused you can tell how many corners blizzard cut making the zone. Mechagon Island is much easier to navigate, and appears to have more unique assets, but still reuses a lot from Tiragarde Sound and other zones.
