RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Other countries should look at our constitution to get an idea of how things should be but not copy it verbatim. One size doesn’t fit all and our constitution isn’t exactly flawless, though that applies to any similar document too.

But Bernie’s platform would have never made it through Congress in 2008 (whoops! corrected). Not even during the first two years when Democrats held the majority in both houses.

Bernies defeat wasn’t entirely a loss.

American acceptance of Socialist policies is slowly growing, especially among the Youth. The people who will be here, when all Baby Boomers breastfed on Conservative Media are gone.

Bernie opened the door.

There it is, you’ve been denying this all night

I said in the last thread I socially agreed with progressive ideals, and maintained a preference for bipartisan policies.

Nothing I said has changed my original stateent.

best thing bernie could have done was engage and get young voters on his platform which he has done. the democratic part is still incredibly centrist but there is hope it may become an actual left wing party instead of republican lite

Bernie’s ideas are all extremely popular among regular people. I can only hope we can get to them one day.

We’ll see if Zoomers and Millennials actually turn out to vote in 2020. If they do, then Biden should be a lock.

Otherwise, senior citizens and low info voters ftw.

trump is already trying his hardest to supress mail in voting so we’ll see. i doubt he’ll go quietly even if he does anyway because the last four years have taught me the entire constitution was built on a system of pinkie swears and you can just ignore it if you want

Let me be clear. I believe Bernie has amazing stances when it comes to human rights and healthcare.

There are multiple capitalist countries in the world who have universal healthcare coverage, and aren’t the radical communist. Like Republicans will tell you.

Healthcare is not a socialist or communist policy. It’s a common sense policy and the only reason Republicans oppose it, is because big pharma loses money.

That does not make me a radical leftist.

I hope that’s true, but I fear that by the time Millenials are old, the brainrot will have set in and they’ll be just like their Boomer parents, consuming government-approved propaganda and being good little piggies. I hope I’m wrong, but I just do not see a lot of hope for America. Feels a lot like the twilight years of a dying empire to me.

Mm, no.

Well, maybe. But the reason it can’t work here gets the overreactionary virtue warriors out.

totally asinine. do your research. NON R’s are have been taking kickbacks from big pharma for decades.
its always the other side, isnt it

The only reason it can’t work in America, is because there’s too many private interest that would lose more than they would gain from universal healthcare.

They need it to remain privatized. That is the difference.

Universal Healthcare is better for the people, Privatized Healthcare is better for the corporations.

YOu mean like the ones voting for Biden and people like Hillary who ARE big money corporate shills only looking out for themselves?

I mean Democrats haven’t had The Senate for a very long time. It still would have been up to them even with Obama in office. her mistake was trusting in the intelligence the American people.
