RIP Ruth Bader Ginsburg

You have GOT to be kidding me. Obama had a filibuster-proof majority for two years and did almost nothing with it. What do you think Trump would do with a 60-majority-senate? Come on. The main thing to remember about Democrats is that they are terrible at wielding power. They invariably screw it up with their cowardice and reactionary tendencies.

She even said in an interview she didnt think the US constitution was a good model for any new countries to follow as a model. She was a socialist, and admittedly so. Look it up fool.

Never knew of her til today but then again I’m not an American. Nor do I live in the USA. Either way she was a important woman and a good role model. Sad to see her go.

Edit: Clarity.

I’d like you to cite me on her admitting to being a socialist. Don’t think anyone will let you get away with just making stuff up, chief.

And whose fault is that? If i recall correctly, Obama couldn’t get some of this party on board with aspects of his agenda because it would have cost them their seats. If the same holds true here then McConnell won’t be able to get a confirmation. I fully expect for the republicans to try and get a nominee through, I would also expect the democrats to do the same if they were in the same situation. It may or may not be successful.

IMO, there are very, very few actually honorable people in politics on either side of the aisle, like almost none. I don’t understand how people think otherwise.

The sad state of affairs is that America, the toilet country, is the global hegemon and hence is of concern to literally any human on earth. RBG’s death is a harbinger of actual fascism becoming far more likely in the country that could probably win a war against every other nation on earth. Chew on that.

Only because Congress is so dysfunctional. Congress can override supreme court decisions but they can never agree on anything and mostly just sit around collecting a pay check.

There’s a lot of socialist policies Americans take for granted.

Such as child labor laws, labor laws in general, and unions that protect workers rights. These are all socialist ideologies.

I agree, but they’re still different. Democrats are self-serving cowards who are only there to serve their own ego and wallets.

Republicans are self-serving cowards who are only there to serve their own ego and wallets. Oh, and they also support radical austerity, ethnic suppression, and violent political suppression.

Its not socialist ideals that are the issue, its the logical conclusion that the Democrat Party wants to take this country and that is to the Marxist side of socialism. Americans have every right to be wary of socialism, it is the pathway to Communism and Marxism and Tyranny.

If folks pitched public libraries today, they’d call it socialism.

Mind giving me a google query or a link? Just put a space after the HTTPS. Its easy. Waiting for that source on your wild claim.

Wait a sec… surely you aren’t saying that thinking that" the US constitution was a good model for any new countries to follow as a model" is socialism? You don’t think that, do you? In case you aren’t aware, socialism has a very specific definition. I know that Fox News has distorted that a lot, but try and think of the actual definition of it. Do you need help understanding it?

Anyways, source me up cowpoke.

Congress is, in my opinion, the most powerful branch of government. The only problem is that a majority of them need to get their acts together in order to exercise that power. It doesn’t really happen these days because all of them are so scared of losing their profitable seats. Look at Susan Collins - When she first got elected she said two or three terms was enough for her, yet here we are.

No one comes out of congress a poorer man or woman than when they went in.

It’s not an opinion, it is lol. It’s literally given the bulk of the power in the constitution.

What are you talking about? This isn’t ancient history. Obama selected Garland Merrick for the court vacancy in March 2016. McConnell did not allow a vote even though Obama’s term ended in 2017.

I’m sure our current president wouldn’t agree.

The Democrats are most certainly not Socialist.

If that was the case they would be doing everything in their power to push Bernie Sanders to the forefront of their party. Not trying to push him down in favor of establishment candidates like Biden.

Neo-Liberals absolutely hate Socialist and Progressives. I don’t know the last time you were in a Liberal circle, but you go talk socialism to them and see how fast you get talked out.

Yeah obviously congress is the most powerful, and that’s a good thing.

Think about it:

SCOTUS: a very small group of people with lifetime appointments
Executive: Literally one person

Only congress can be truly representative. Many far more functional countries also do it this way. America has just totally botched it.
