I’d argue that the debates against science - and pushing things that goes against the facts, like calling climate change fake - is extremist in the right-wing way, as it leads directly into the interests of the corporations.
Though, it could be them arguing for the sake of protecting their bank notes over actually thinking it was fake.
Oh yeah - neither is good to watch without a hefty amount of context and secondary sources.
You realize that many of the people on the left - even those further left-leaning than the ones in power - demonstrably demonize the violence and destruction, right? The left isn’t unified in its support of even the idea of defunding/reforming the police.
I dunno - are you okay with attempting to influence the election by violence? It’s nothing new, and it’s not unique to the left. How about trying to influence the election through corruption, like the USPS, or trying to run a smear campaign on a form of voting that Democrats favour?
I disagree with this very strongly. I would say that a lot of the Republican party really doesn’t care who does what with their lives. It’s the crazies that end up on the news for taking off their masks and fighting Wal-Mart security guards for taking away their rights that give the Republicans this reputation.
I would say that a large portion of the left (mainly the younger people, I am also on the younger side so I know many of these people) are not open at all to hearing an opinion from someone on the right. This may be just anecdotal, but many of the people I went to high school with in the past are not open in the slightest to having a conversation.
I was not old enough no. I did a project and had to look through everything from 1990 onward, so I do understand what happened. I’m saying that when it happens, there will be people who refuse to accept the results, far left or far right. Me in the middle wont care, but fully expect violence after the election is over.
It’ll be nice when we can collaborate again. We’re still a baby nation…we just gotta work together a bit more and stop making things partisan that have no business being partisan.
The trump campaign supports trump taking total control, declaring martial law and arresting various people that oppose him if he loses the election. You ok with that?
So with regards to the pick. I don’t think there will be anything preventing it. Even if some of these senate seats flip and the presidency flips, they’ll still confirm during the lame duck session right?
I personally don’t think about the climate all that often because there is little I can do for it, but I do see your point. I was very against Trump pulling out of the climate deal he pulled out of, but I also feel when most people blame America that the blame is misplaced. We have cut down a LOT on emissions, but a lot of Asian countries continue to pollute at a very alarming rate.
When I said “Extremist views” I moreso meant what typical “Republican Extremist” is presented as in the media, such as very much so against non-straight white male rights.
