Here’s the funny thing about an MMORPG: It isn’t just about you.
Yes, that’s right. You’re not the star of the show, you’re just one in the cast of millions. You are not so important that your inconvenience outweighs a group of people’s fun.
Now, if you’re looking for a group for UBRS, start by checking in the level-appropriate zones, and your guild chat, where things will likely be slower, before braving the cities and trade chat. Going to Trade Chat and demanding to be heard is like going to Times Square in the middle of the day and expecting everyone to be paying attention to you.
Yes, it’s not all about one person, so understand that when you’re spamming chuck norris in chat, you’re affecting other people being able to play the game. Why should they have to cater to you acting like an idiot?
Seriously, make a chat channel for chuck norris and problem solved. They literally had to make an addon because you people were so intrusive when you decided to start spamming.
Your “fun” is literally taking every chat channel hostage by NONSTOP chuck norris spam. Do you understand how extreme it gets? 20 posts per second was NOT an exaggeration. Once you idiots start, nobody else can use the chat channels.
And your point being? One person can’t do 20 posts per second. That’s a group of people having fun. Is it stupid? Sure. But stupid can be fun. Hell, there are movie stars that made their entire careers out of being stupid.
It isn’t like someone is chaining you down locking you in place so that you must stay in the city. Step out of the city, talk to your guildies. Check the zone channels, which rarely get as busy, and find people of the right level for what you need. Don’t just stand in the middle of Times Square and shout into the wind, and then get pissy because no one is listening to you.
OR, again, make your own chat channel, and stop affecting everyone else because you can’t act mature enough to not spam everyone’s messages out of the channels that exist specifically for them to be able to use.
You literally spam EVERY chat channel away, that means guild, looking for group, trade, any custom channels, when you’re spamming chuck norris, what is so hard to understand?
The part where that is my problem, or the group of people I’m having fun with’s problem. It isn’t like people have you strapped down and are forcing you to take it. And, anyways, the spam will probably go away in a few minutes, once we get bored.
or you can just not spam? Seriously, what is so difficult about acting like a mature adult? Nobody is saying don’t have fun, but do SERIOUSLY see absolutely nothing wrong with drowing out the chat channel of hundreds of people because you want to tell 15 year old jokes that stopped being funny 16 years ago at the point that it’s spam and so excessive that nobody else can use the chat channels because a few of you have to act childish??
I could, but I won’t. It isn’t, but I don’t want to. No, I don’t see anything wrong with that. It is part of the fun and community that existed back in the day, and I’m eager for its return.
The cities and Trade Chat are just one way of finding people to game with. If those are busy, either take the 20 seconds each to fill out tickets on people having fun in a way that bothers you, or step out of the city to see if your guildies know anyone online who would be down for your dungeon run.
Again, it really isn’t. Trade chat getting spammy scrolls everything off the screen, sure. So drop trade chat, or step out of the city, done and done. Or, open a ticket, and if the GMs think it is warranted, and not just someone with their panties in a twist, they’ll deal with it.
And if hundreds of people are hanging out in cities for more than just Auction House, Trainers, and the like, they’re probably enjoying the show, because rational people would see that things are busy, and would look for a different avenue to get their group together. Like when you see that one road is backed up for whatever reason, but there’s a road just a block over that is moving nice and fast. If you keep in the road that’s going slow instead of rerouting, that’s your own fault.
You know, Celessi, you sound rather tense. Perhaps you ought to go visit the Goldshire Inn over on Moon Guard? The people there will help you to relax.
I had a suspicion on this so I installed the 8.2 PTR.
These options are disabled on there as well. Make it way more likely that those systems are simply disabled on the Classic Beta rather then them being taken out altogether.
I mean they’re not going to take away people’s ability to put in an in-game ticket for a major content patch right ?
