Right Click Reporting is out of the beta. No official word yet

Which GMs did not review (most of the time) as evident by hundreds showcasing such in reddit or even on YouTube. These people were rcr spammed by twitch armies for nothing and got temp bans.

Secondly, are you saying someone getting chat banned for no reason is acceptable?

That is my point.

When there are tens, or hundreds, of players sending messages to chat, itā€™s not ā€œSPAMā€, IMO, no matter how much it may annoy that particular poster.

When there are tens or hundreds doing it with the intention of drowning out the chat channel, yes, it is spam

I feel you on that Brickā€¦my kids say that about me and my wife too LOL.

Not going to upload a screenshot 'cause Iā€™m lazy.

I can indeed confirm that right clicking a players name in chat does not have the Report option on the popup menu.

But it may not mean anything at all - the Customer Support window you bring up using the ? button on the default button bar ? Has the report option greyed out.

This tells me that rather then right click to report being removed itā€™s more likely that the Report player feature itself is for whatever reasons not hooked up in Classic Beta. As is pretty common for Betas.

I trust you Bluespacecow. Though, Iā€™d Just would like to see it with my own eyes.

Iā€™m hoping this is the case.

And you personally know 100%, beyond a shadow od doubt, what their intent is?

If you know absolutely, no questions asked, 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt, that every one of those tens, or hundreds, of players in chat are chatting solely to ā€œdrown the chat channelā€ and piss you off, go ahead and submit a ticket for each and every one of those tens, or hundreds, of players.

It sounds to me as if you simply want to be able to report any other player, at any time, for any reason.

Well for full disclosure disabled and greyed out on the Customer Support windows :

  • Account Security
  • Report Player
  • Open a Ticket

And there is no chance Blizzard would think or even contemplate removing the ability for players to easily lookup the Account Security KB article and the ability to ticket in game.

Stop worrying everyone. Having these disabled is BAU for betas.

From your point of view, maybe. For everyone else, well, it is part of the fun, and the community. If you want perfectly sterilized channels devoid of community, Retail is there for you, fam. Personally, I enjoy hearing about Chuck Norris and [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker].

In a world where reporting everyone for everything makes us right, it makes sense this would be an issue for so many and not just simply using the ignore feature.

And as has been pointed out in the past numerous times, does nothing to stop those who are responding to the spammers. It is not about policing ā€œfunā€, it is about attempting to keep channels which exist for certain communication not being ruined by people who insist on using them as general chat channels.

Why would I leave the channel rather than RCR them so that they are both ignored, reported and if enough people are miffed by them, being silenced until a GM can deal with them?

The old Ascii art posts with the inevitable C-C-C-Combo Breaker.

Because thatā€™s called ā€˜not being a wet blanketā€™. It is the same as if youā€™re on the internet and you mistype the address, and find yourself on a p0rn site. You donā€™t go and rage at the world, you hit this newfangled thing called the ā€˜backā€™ button, and it takes you away from there. If everyone but you is having fun, the problem is you, not them, and trying to sh1t on their fun is, by definition, being the fun police.

Yes. People should receive summary disconnections and chat bans for high crimes such asā€¦

  • Advertising their group/guild/item for sale slightly more often than some people would like.

  • Wronging a streamer in any way.

  • Voicing any opinion that is not overwhelmingly popular.

  • Ending up in a battleground that someoneā€™s guildie is queued up for.

  • Asking a legitimate question that people assume to be trolling.

  • Engaging a world boss that another guild also wants to kill.
All so you can report gold sellers and botters in 4 seconds instead of 20.

This isnā€™t just a case of guilty until proven innocent. Itā€™s assumed guilt, and punishment, with no evidence of an infraction or investigation.

So that you can report a gold spammer in two clicks.

Wanting specialized non-general chat channels there for intended use to not be filled up with general chat garbage = ā€œbeing a wet blanketā€? I suspect you will be one of the first to end up silenced and will be wondering why.

Iā€™m really wondering if they understand how intrusive they are. When you type LFG UBRS and itā€™s IMMEDIATELY scrolled off of everyoneā€™s chat box by spamming movies with murloc in them that it has an effect on everyone playing the game. That theyā€™re actually getting in the way of people being able to form groups because they canā€™t act like a mature adult.

If you want to spam this stuff all day, thatā€™s perfectly fine if you make your own chat channel for it. But stop affecting how everyone else is able to play the game because you want to act like an immature 10 year old.

Just another reason that Classic is going to definitely need a looking for group interface, since we already have people fighting to be able to spam chat messages away with chuck norris.

Sure thing, skippy. You sure you even played back in the day? The glorious trade chat spam was part of what made classic, classic. Hell, I know there were times where I would spend half an hour or more just chilling in a capitol city having fun with other people on chat. Because, you know, ā€˜being socialā€™ and ā€˜communityā€™ were actual things back then.

Look, if you want sterile channels that are never used for anything but their intended purpose, Retail WoW is there for you. Sure, the channels are barely used anyway, since thereā€™s no need to group up in the world and everyone just LFD/LFRs, and the community is dead, but you donā€™t have Chuck Norris. Gotta love it, right?

Oh, they know quite well.

But thereā€™s a big difference between a conversation going on, and literally a nonstop wall of 20 posts per second of chuck norris.

Once one of you starts, give up on finding groups or selling anything, because chat messages are literally scrolled away as fast as you can post them.
