I mean you can pretend all you want. Ive done the “pretend its a moderated debate thing” and its a waste of time.
I come to the conclusion that if the person actually cared about the topic they would research it themselves, but most of you are just interested in pretending this is some moderated debate stage.
If you cared you would google. Simple as that. The articles are there where they are on record discussing using machine learning algorithms starting a couple of years ago.

No. I am explaining why I do not have to. Its not a moderated debate stage.
I find that people who jump to the “omg you have to cite claims” are playing some pretend debate game and are a lot of the time psuedo-intellectual types who waste peoples time.
I filter them out by not playing along. If you actually knew anything about the system, you would have read how they started using algorithms year or two ago.
But you dont know anything and your only goal is psuedo-internet debate club which is silly. You either care about the topic or you dont. If you do, go google it.

So till you actually have any evidence we will all continue to dismiss it without evidence, because it seems to contradict what reality and common sense seem to show.
You are saying common sense tells you that Blizzard hasnt been playing with the algorithms and using machine learning for their report system?
I mean if you just google machine learning report system blizzard, you would see you are wrong.
If you care enough about the topic you would have done that already.
I did, first it seemed to only talk about Overwatch… so not that relevant to WoW.
Also it talks about filtering chat, not about imposing penalties so AGAIN not relevant to the discussion…
Better luck next time when you want evidence please provide evidence from WoW of players being silenced/banned AUTOMATICALLY.
It should be a very easy task if this is really a thing, since there are plenty of streamers of sufficient size that examples should be quite common, if it were really a thing.
until then we will all continue to dismiss your claims because they do not match with reality.

you glazed over the first article and did enough cursory reading to feign that you researched it.
Kotick is on record saying otherwise, and in fact his goal is to train it to spot bad in game behavior even like troll use of abilities.
Go google RBGs and auto bans. It was being abused last year to get free wins to get the flag carrier dc’d. I never heard that happening when i played RBGs. It just popped up as a problem suddenly last year.

The fear of this feature is massively irrational. Realizing it’s irrational and stupid does not make you a “Blizzard apologist” either. It just is a demonstration of basic common sense.
Worst case scenario: people actually do “right click bomb” someone and get them squelched. GM reviews. Determines there obviously was no reason to do that and determines that the people who did it were abusing the right click report feature as a method of harassment. Squelch removed from the victim, actions are taken against the accounts who abused the report feature, likely starting with just a warning.
If people continue to abuse the feature their accounts are suspended or banned. Word spreads that it’s a very bad idea to abuse this feature. It doesn’t become wide spread or a huge issue because getting your account suspended or banned just to get someone squelched makes very little sense.

Still waiting for the CS forums to blow up over this “abuse” people are claiming. The place goes nuclear when a server crashes or someone is kicked from a group unfairly. Not seeing it for RCR abuse.
