It doesn’t, your pets are way more likely to die in PvP content than PvE especially when one of your best defensives transfers damage to your pet anyways
And are they supposed to use fel dom outside of combat situations? It’s enough of a quality of life pain for both classes to drop representation on its own. I am more familiar with hunter but when prepatch hits if this sticks it’s going to ruffle feathers. A six second demon summon, soulwell cast, mount cast, possibly changing talents? All of this every single match? How do they finish it before a mythic plus countdown in pve?
Warlocks weren’t ever popular in mythic plus to begin with, just arenas and raiding
In which case the out of combat doesn’t matter
But soulwell and mount are done before the key is pulled anyways lol, can easily resummon your pet during countdown and mount up, plus any time you’re mounting up in M+ you can stand to be slightly behind to begin with
Warlocks are punished less than hunters for pet dying, can prevent their deaths more in most content and also get fel dom so it’s kinda funny
I don’t see the point of saying “something is bad and therefore it being not functional isn’t a problem” is. The change to revive pet cast length wasn’t just coincidentally changed to the same one as demon summon. Pets die to all sorts of unreasonable things in pve too and I’d rather not shelve my hunter for shadowlands. This change isn’t good for any area of the game.
I am only saying that warlocks aren’t going to suffer because they already accommodated them for this change, and it’s pretty crazy that hunters have received no help whatsoever, not sure where you’re reading me saying this is good for the game or something?
This is not good for pvp and pve.
This still hasn’t been addressed? So odd.
Of course not. Much of the WoW community actively celebrates this change. People love to see BM in particular screwed over whenever possible.
Most people don’t like the aspect of being beaten by an AI… I get that, but at the same time this neuters an entire class due to that.
What does it take to get blizzard to give us equal share of quality design?
One of life’s many mysteries. lol
It does make sense. It should be longer in PvP.
That being said, 6 seconds it too long. It should be the current time in PvE, and 2 seconds more in PvP.
Wut?
I think you’re majorly misguided or a major troll… Not only has this been a big topic in the Feedback on the dev forums, but plenty of top hunters know this without buffing pets or giving us the ability for an instant rez cooldown will be detrimental to hunters in pvp.
Even 4 second rez is going to be completely awful lol
The thing is hunter pets are incredibly squishy right now, easiest to kill they’ve ever been, with all defensive utility pruned, and you also can’t ever keep them off of the kill target because they need to be attacking as part of your dps rotation for 2/3 of the specs and for the other spec you still need it on kill target 24/7 for mortal wounds as they removed them off pets
There’s no reason for pets in their current state to have a cast time like this lol
Any change like this is vastly more punishing in PvP than PvE, yet you think it should go away in PvE only because you have no experience in both or something
It’s an annoyance in M+ and raid but it’s possible to deal with, maybe they will even have mobs that won’t really even kill pets.
In an arena you’ll never get a single rez off. It’s not even about annoyance, it’ll just be useless.
Six second pet res is a terrible idea in pvp AND pve, both raid and mythic plus. Let me give you an example: the other day I was in a temple of sethralis fighting some trash mobs in merekthas room. The mobs have abilities that target random nearby enemies that absolutely truck pets. I had to use my 3 min cool down wall, my mend pet, my spirit mend on my pet, and even used exhilarate to heal my pet, not me. Despite all those efforts, my pet got clapped. So I lost bestial wrath, my blood of the enemy window, lost time off my aspect cool down, dropped frenzy stacks and lost dps uptime which all feels bad. I Rez my pet quickly and attempt to build my frenzy stacks up again while lamenting my loss of cooldowns only to have my pet AGAIN take huge damage, I use mend pet, and pet dies. I repeated this process a number of times in this particular room of the dungeon and couldn’t help but feel dread at the though of having a six second pet Rez in SL. That scenario involved my pet dying four times in a matter of maybe a minute? Despite my best efforts and using my whole toolkit to keep my pet alive. Six seconds is way too long… it’s too long in raid, it’s too long in dungeons, and holy god, I can’t imagine how bad this will be in pvp. As if hunters need more reason to suck in rated pvp… please blizzard, if you’re reading this, please don’t do this. And if you INSIST on doing this, buff hunter pet health and durability by 100% from what it is now, make mend pet a more powerful heal on a shorter cool down, and take it off the GCD. One or the other is really the only thing I can see as reasonable. Please acknowledge everyone in this thread. A blue post would be great, thanks.
I thought one of the upcoming beta changes was to push it out to 30 seconds after alot of testing and feedback.
6s still too easy to abuse and cause problems for other classes. need to get better as player with your weapon to compensate
What on earth are you talking about? I’ve seen NOTHING about making pet rez 30 seconds. Why say this?
Said weapon is pretty much useless with out a pet. How about we take away the 5 yard range your sap has since that’s not how a sap works.
6 seconds is still too much of an abuse so further look and changes will come. 30 second is what devs can look at now
Trollololol
He/she’s trolling. Don’t bother🙃
