She was losing.
She was also a banshee ranger. Roots aren’t going to affect her like they’d affect him.
Yeah, why do they keep doing that?
It reminds me of how the Saurfang storyline was supposed to rebuild hope and pride in the Horde, and then they went out of their way to insert things like having him tell Anduin the Horde was built on a lie and could never be as good as the Alliance in a thousand years.
It is, but I’ll cut the writers a little bit of slack there because they were trying to make sense of a story that was dropped on them by someone who left (or was forcibly removed) without seeing it through.
What worries me is they keep pretending this wasn’t a train wreck.
Even the most casual players who don’t really engage with the story beyond a surface level were annoyed. Because this really has next to nothing to do with Azeroth and beyond that it just had truly baffling decisions like the Covenant abilities and Choregast.
Even people who aren’t playing are bewildered. Turning the Lich King’s crown, by far one of the most iconic items in the series, into what looks like a level 30 mail BoE mail helm is unpopular with anyone who has eyes.
The story seemed to satisfy approximately no one. If they were just honest about how it went wrong and what was going to be done to ensure it doesn’t happen again they could fix a lot of this up.
SL looks like, what I can only refer to as Frankensteins Monster, by stitching a bunch of random stories together and hoping nobody notices and thinking people will actually enjoy this incoherent mess
If you showed me screenshots of it like 4 years ago that didn’t include the cameo characters, I’d think it was a completely different game that ripped off Blizz’s cartoony art style.
And the shame is the art team really knocked it out of the park. I hadn’t seen anything about Zerith Mortis and going there for the first time was definitely a Woah moment. Its gorgeous.
It just has nothing to do with WoW.
Seriously it’s weird we’ve defeated the architect of all cosmic cruelty, the mastermind behind everything from Argus to Arthas, and I felt entirely indifferent about him.
She was secure in the fact that Ardenweald was the destiny of all but her most evil of children. The Sorting Hat automatically sorted all not Revendreth worthy night elves to Nelvenweald. It’s literally designated as their afterlife in Grimoire.
Elune had no way of knowing the Arbiter was broken. Hell, only Kyrestia and Denathrius were aware. Primus had long been mind broken before the even happened, and Queenie had no idea.
Idk maybe double check before letting your chosen people die in a fire.
Plus she really showed her shock with that “Oh”.
All the tortured bereavement of me finding out my coupon for a $1 of a double cheeseburgers is expired.
This is one of the reason that destroyed the myth elune…for all eternity. She ´s supposed to be a mother goddess…a spirituell mother of all night elves…and failed horrible in protecting them…and their eternal soul.
she was made dumb, and on top of it failed in every attemp to be their “mother”
This is where I sympathize with nelf fans.
Blizzard rarely handles scenes like this well.
But… Elune is not the ultra supreme goddess of all gods.
She is not more powerful than all gods.
She is not all knowing and more aware than all gods.
She does not have power over the Shadowlands.
She’s a life goddess.
She trusted that the Shadowlands weren’t broken.
They had never been broken before.
Why would she even consider that to be a possibility?
Well at least Bwomsamdi is worth worshipping.
He didn’t let one of his faithful slip into the Maw, even though it nearly destroyed him. Even saves the souls of the heretics that nearly succeeded in erasing him.
For he understands they know not what they do.
Literally the only Lord and Savior in the setting.
It’s like salt in the wound, because it shows that the horde loa knows everything, of course, and the alliance deity fails in everything to bring in even more unnecessary tragedy…
This was til now a bad desscion to make elune such a dumb being…before this she know everything, she even send Tyrande visions of the Legions attack before the legion attack…she know before the cataclysmus happened that the Cataclysmus happen and elune send her visions about it…yeah, i know, you like that elune is nerfed so much…but don´t pretend here that this was allways the case.
BEFORE SL, she was clearly meant to be a deity that know things no one else could know…expect the one who thought about it. and she had inside in this situation.
Bwomsamdi was pretty surprised by the events of SL.
He’s just a good deity that personally shepards all the souls of his faithful. He had zero clue what was going on. He’s just your actual personal lord and savior so he’ll make sure your soul gets somewhere safe no matter what.
Future vision in regards to mortals is different than in regards to other gods.
And truth be told, it wasn’t even necessarily future vision.
Travel across the great expanse takes time.
She knew they were coming, and gave word.
It’s the equivalent of having an aunt in Japan who phones you that your uncle (also from japan) is coming to visit. She doesn’t have future sight, she just knew before you did.
But this surprise had no effect on his work, he was successful in saving his followers, the same can definitely not be said about Elune.
Attacke of legion and Cataclysmus were about other gods decisions, and not about mortals. She know before its happened that it´ll happen.
She even warned tyrande about the emerald nightmare and told her how to save malfurion and the green Dragons …as i said before, do not pretend that it was allways so, that she was unknown of events outside of her “influence”.
Legion isn’t composed of gods. It’s composed of (relatively, if powerfully) mortal demons.
Elune has more power in the Material Realm than she does in the Shadowlands.
She isn’t welcome in the Shadowlands.
We learn this from Queenie herself.
Before you uh, actually: If you kill a demon in the great dark or whatever (i don’t remember the name), they die for real.
we know from kil’jaeden that every attack and the decision of this attack were made by sargeras, and i would count sargeras a…yeah, “titan” aka god.
Okay, but once he makes that decision he passes them to demons, and thus Elune would know. Again,
Nevermind that Sargeras wasn’t in the Order Lands. He was in the Material Realm.
She knew it before its happened…not because some demons were involved
