Revert the Prot Warrior nerfs next patch

All tanks should be buffed to prot pally levels, imo. But their transmog options will always be inferior to our glorious shinies. And that’s all the advantage we need.

re roll BDK life is better

I mean… BrM is lowest atm and it also got only a threat increase I believe it was… Lol at least warriors an S in places.

No, its still 1 of 3 as you have to look at a run as a whole.

And you need less healing when you take less damage

It doesn’t take no life to macro Ignore Pain into everything, which you can literally do because warriors generate so much rage that there’s not much reason not to.

Life? BDKs are dead and an abomination to the light. Heretic!

self healing for days

You will take more damage as there is less IP and self-healing from rage spent, leading to warriors taking more damage not less. look how colossus works before responding, as when I tried to explain it you did not understand it? But you may want to look at how the class and rage economy works before asserting your expertise about the changes will affect the class.

There’s not less IP, there’s more.
IP cost the same, but covers more damage.

You’re losing out on a bit of damage from fewer Revenges, but you’re not taking more damage. You’re actually taking less damage with the same amount of IPs, reducing the need for more self healing.

You have to be trolling right?

You cannot cast as as many Ignore pains due to not having Rage… You don’t get magically get more from less casts. What part do you not understand? Where is it going over your head? I get the feeling you must just be trolling, you have close to 20k posts on the forum so you must spend a lot of time trolling the forums all day.

You 100% can.
You supplement fewer Revenges for more IPs
You take a hit to your DPS for the same defenses you’re currently running.

Stop commenting and read how the class works, revenge spends rage, it also has a chance to reset ss to generate more rage… you have to cast revenge in aoe to get threat. right now in ptr you cannot even cast Shield block and IP you can forget about casting revenge. You need to cast revenge to get stacks of colossal might in order to get the DR from Demolish.

But as you admitted you don’t know how the class works and trying to explain it to you is hopeless. Not sure why you having trouble understanding that less rage means less casts of ignore pain. Can you look at how the class works before commenting or are you just a troll?

Which is not a problem. Warrior is traditionally a high APM class and that’s why a lot of us play it. The changes are completely unnecessary and the dev time would be better spent helping brews come up. A nerf to a non meta tank just to completely ignore another makes sense?

I main prot warrior and die a little inside everytime i play with a prot paladin flexing sustain and damage like a dps. I can’t do the big pulls nor even get close to the dps. I was in a 10 recently where me, the ret and prot paladin were the last to be alive. They were able to off heal me and get Skarmorak down from half health which is insane, do mechanics and win. Insane.

We shall see what this feels like. Iʻd hate to have to just sit there auto attacking because i need to save rage for defensives.
Not the best way to keep aggro on a pack of baddies

You don’t have to, it’s just faster. Shield Slam works too.
There’s points where you’re not going to need to maintain a full 3 million shield of IP, in which you can cast Revenge, just like now.

Not to mention you still get Revenge procs. The problem was maintaining IP 100% and still free casting Revenge. And they want to make it a bit more of a decision between DPS or survival depending on the situation, and not having both for all situations.

No, I said I wasnt sure how Collosus and told you I was speaking from Mountain Thane.

It doesn’t. You can keep the same amount of casts of IP with lower the amount of casts of Revenge. That’s the entire point of the changes. Making you decide which one is needed in a given situation instead of free casting both

We can compare logs of both Thane and Colossus and find that Colossus generates more rage (roughly 750 per minute to 715 per minute). The biggest issue is where the Rage is spent. Both spend roughly 22-23 CPM, just Colossus goes more into Revenge and Thane goes more into IP

Colossus can make up the difference by spending fewer casts on revenge and more casts on IP.

No, i agree, it’s fun being super spammy. But Warriors not having to really worry about defensives to rotate through and just kind of making sure you have IP up for high damage points/all times doesn’t really put much thought into how it plays out.

I think that’s what they said they wanted to address. Instead of running your rotation like normal and just hitting IP every time you’re getting close to capping on Rage, they want you to actually put conscious thought behind it.

Nah the reduction to rage generation isn’t that bad lol

You shouldn’t have any issue with pulls. Pound for pound, we’re much sturdier than a paladin, we just don’t have the DPS. There’s a reason warrior/shaman was meta before the pally DPS buff.

I’m a bit surprised! You’d probably be the first to bring up sustainability issues on a Protection Warrior. Y’all are great for that with plenty of rage to spare (for the rest of S1).

Could potentially just be a really good set of Paladins you ran into? I can do 8/9 but before the tank buster nerfs I was struggling to tank on a 10 (but I fully accept it’s a skill issue on my part here).

While the top 1000 definitely rings team pink, top 50 has one of the most diverse tank distributions I’ve seen probably in a long while (all tanks represented and doing pretty close to each other in damage: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/zone/rankings/39/?metric=dps&class=Tanks&boss=-1)
