Revenue Loss from Classic WoW

Sure. I can show you what happens. Only rogues, mages, hunters get to go. If you pick the wrong class/spec…because remember Classic WoW had the worst class balancing in all of WoW’s history, you didn’t even get to go!

And yet clearly a fanbase for games like vanilla exists.

Dont tell me, tell them.

Oh it exists. its just not nearly as big as people pretend it is. I dont think anyone denies that the fanbase exists.

We just disagree on how large that fanbase will be once classic launches.

Weird, bc the only acceptable tank in 8.0 was a blood Dk for mythic…that’s balance for ya, I guess.

There was more tank balance in 8.0 than there was in Classic.

Funny because in retail every class has c.c.

Furthermore, in vanilla you didn’t need 3 cc for every dungeon and I gladly took hybrids as dps all the time. Sorry your fear mongering won’t work

And its my turn to play your card.

Inviting hybrids to dps was something only a small subset of the population actually did.

Some people. Not nearly as big as some people claim.

You cab have your watered down homogenized retail with most the mmo and rpg elements stripped out of it. I’ll enjoy classic with its inconveniences.

No, most guilds didn’t get to be choosey, so stop fear mongering and saying that every guild did what top guilds did.

Most guilds didn’t have the luxury of having 25 rogues mages and warriors for dps.

And actually even death and taxes was known for having hybrids dps

Hey, I am not saying don’t enjoy Classic. You do you.

I know I know. Its only alright for the Classic Lovers to fearmonger about Retail. I gotta learn my place.

Yet your saying most guilds pigeonholed hybrids. False. Top guilds did. Most guilds took what they could get.

Aside from it being a completely different team and department, yes, there will be services but only those that were available back then. Like character transfers. It will also have the combined sub, that pays toward both versions of the game. So classic players that have no interest in current wow, will STILL be paying for it. The same on the reverse.

Here is what gets me- Current wow makes them millions but people like you are worried if classic will “bankrupt” them? It boggles my mind.

And after everything that has happened the past few days, can you really even think like that? You are more worried about if they will continue to have a stream of good revenue but not if they will hand a shady CEO $15 million dollars?

Well most people didn’t have the luxury to be choosy when it came to running a dungeon. You got maybe 2 c.c and filled with something else. Usually something that didn’t clash with what people needed loot wise.

The entire point of this thread is to fearmonger.

I’ll believe it when I see it.
Let’s see how it’s going about 5-6 months after it’s released. That will be the true test. If folks are active and happy and not jumping ship or whining about needing QOL improvements then it will be a success.

All this is baseless conjecture
