Hey,
I’m finally returning to Azeroth and really want to give a chance to the game again. I haven’t played in years (though I have kept an active subscription). I’m not sure if it matters but I am on the Kirin-Tor Server. I am looking for people to join, hang out with and quest as I get my feet wet again.
The last expansion that I played seriously was was Mists of Pandaria. I played a bit of Legion and got my Demon Hunter, and a bit of Battle for Azeroth.
I’m hoping to find a welcoming community/clan that I can play with and will help me get used to the game again.
I used to play Hunter, Shaman, and Priest. I played both PVE and PVP. I have done Raids and Rated Battlegrounds. So I am fairly open minded when it comes to content and willing to learn the ropes to be part of those.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.
See you in Azeroth!
Returning player is a very low volume forum, so chances of someone from your own realm who has a guild that fits your needs seeing it here is pretty low. There are a few options though.
You can look through this thread to see if there are any posts from guilds on your realm. (alternatively, if realm doesn’t matter much to you, my alliance guild’s post is here, but it would require changing realms.)
You can also check your own realm forum here to see if any guilds are advertising, though realm forums are also generally pretty low volume.
In game options include the classic trade chat route, as well as the much improved since the last time you played guild finder feature. I’d recommend looking for active guilds in the Social & Leveling section. Until you start playing end game content and figuring out what type of content you want to focus your time on, this should be a pretty safe route to find some friendly people. And who knows, you might find your social guild also does a bit of raiding, pvp, or M+.
There is also a sub forum dedicated to looking for guilds, but generally speaking the guilds that are in that forum are looking for experienced raiders. So that route might be a bit of a dead end with what you’re currently looking for.
Don’t be afraid to guild hop if you find you aren’t enjoying your time with a particular group, sometimes it can take a bit of time to find someplace you really want to call home, but I’m a firm believer that there’s a guild out there for everyone.
Best of luck in your travels!

Thank you for all that information. Is there a way that we can talk?
