Returning Player cannot access certain functions

Hello, I am returning to the game with launch of the Classic anniversary servers. It’s great to be back!!

However, I cannot access the Auction House or trade/send mail to other players. I have been back for more than 12 hours. My friend has also come back after the same length of absence and he has no restrictions.

Can someone please help?

If you’re new or returning to the game after a very long break you’ll need to have a full month of paid gametime before you can access these features so it seems.

Your friend may have had active gametime after the cut-off mark. Which makes them eligible to not get restricted. I believe it was a month after 2017?

In order to help combat the Real Money Trade some restrictions were implemented that require accounts to have paid for at least one month of game time before they’ll be able to use some of the trading features.

Some of the philosophy behind this was posted about here, if interested.

Looking at your account history it looks like the game time you added was the first for awhile, the effective date for purchased game time to count for this is November of 2017.

The restrictions should lift after the 26th day from when the game time was purchased. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, I had seen something on that and neither of us had game time after 2017.

I am thankful that he can access the AH. Disappointed that I cannot, nor can I reimburse him :frowning:

If I had known I would have subbed a month earlier. I understand how it really helps with bots but it’s pretty crushing on certain toons to not access the AH or be able to trade with other characters (Priest sure needs a wand early)

It sounds like a new system is needed to combat bad actors so that folks who havent done anything wrong like poor Auda here dont get caught up in the system by simply returning to the game, and giving the company money after an extended absence.

Nothing in your document states I cannot mail items between my own characters. I swear you don’t even play your game.

FIX THAT and most of the complaints would die away

You seem to think Forumcat works for Blizzard. I promise they don’t. The only folks who work for Blizzard here are the Blues. The ones who post here are Support Forum Agents. Who have nothing to do with game policies. The WoW Developers do - and they don’t post here so you will need to stick to your feedback thread in Classic. That feedback gets collected by Community Managers there and relayed to Developers.
