You know why Rets always seem to complain? How many raid tiers or arena seasons has Ret preformed exceptionally? Besides ICC.

I understand the point you’re making, but the thing is Ret has no utility or buffs of their own, except Repentance, of all things. You said it yourself, hunters had Tranq Shot and strong kiting going for them in vanilla. Ret has nothing that other classes or specs can’t bring.
Disagreeing with you and posting a funny video is now what constitutes as toxic? I can see why they ignore rets complaining about buffs.
Ret already has fine representation and does more than enough DPS to kill bosses. That certainly isn’t what a class looks like if it needs buffs.
Underperforming relative to what? Would it be enough if Ret gained about 500 dps so that they are equal last? Or should they be buffed more to actually change their rank?
Some of the changes being recommended would result in Ret being middle of the pack in Ulduar.
Imagine Ret gets a buff, such that they overtake BM, Feral, Arms, Fury, Ele, and Marksman to be a firm B tier middle of the pack? For sake of argument. Let’s explore the consequences of that. Who will be last DPS after that of the “viable” dps specs?

Instead of buffing Ret, it seems that the more popular outcome should be that all other classes are nerfed in line with Ret’s damage because Ret is fine.
After a quick review of WCL it appears that rogues and DK’s need to lose 3-5K dps depending on the fight, feral and enhance need to lose between 1-2k dps per fight, and warriors are already balanced although Fury may need to be looked at soon.
I trust Blizzard will prioritise these balancing adjustments to their game.
Edit: as the poster below me points out, while pre-gear the numbers look pretty horrible it will be important to see how it plays out when everyone has better gear.

According to the sims when we’re all decked out in Ulduar 25 HM gear Fury jumps up exactly two spots - overtaking Ret and Ele. Still bottom half, still behind BM, Feral, Marks, Shadow, Combat, Destro, Arcane, everything else basically. And that’s our best spec - the best the warrior class can do in the tier. Arms will still be bottom.
Whoever is pushing the idea that Fury will shoot up from bottom to middle in Ulduar hasn’t done the maths.
Ele scales particularly poorly and drops off hard. They end up around third bottom just ahead of Arms and Ret…

Warriors have a good tank spec and 1.75 good arena specs and dont complain cuz warrior players are solid people
Palas have the best healing spec, best tank spec, the 2 best arena specs in game, free mount, bubble hearth, and shadowmourne option yet still complain on forum every day
The point of ret is to level up, mess around in bgs, or raid for fun in a 0-responsibility capacity
“but rets cant just SWITCH ROLES in our guild” really none of your healers can go damage? none of your tanks can go dps? not a single one? 4.5 months of naxx i guarantee SOMEONE in your guild is itching to try another spec. It takes a big player to admit “hey my spec is a joke, i want to respec for our people” you will probably get funneled loot asap
Meanwhile many DK players are rerolling warlock not crying on forum (much) The sweat guild i’m friends with are stacking 7 warlocks for HMs this week
Too lazy to look up logs but im sure rets are out there clearing hard modes right at this moment. Quit crying respec or reroll

Sadly even this won’t help.
By the time they get 2 PC t10 they will be 6k DPS behind.
It might bring them to lower middle of the pack but even then who knows.
Ret is doomed.
You keep saying this and it’s still wrong. You were saying a raid could solely bring Ret Paladins for DPS and pass all the DPS checks in all WoTLK raid content. Just wrong, wrong; wrong.

Are you suggesting that guilds are gonna give Shadowmourne to a formerly ret gone holy paladin?
They are gonna be trash in icc too.
I disagree, also, you have to bear in mind that once upon a time this game was balanced with arenas in mind.
You have a spec that doesnt even buff the team in BGs complaining that they aren’t the best at everything? I’m loving this patch more and more.
How is this related to the spec and not the players?
