Retcon Calia, reverse Lightforged nonsense

My guess is that Lightforged Forsaken are a new allied race, for the Alliance, and Calia is their leader. I can’t decide if that’s better or worse than her just replacing Sylvanas.

Well you know, Forsaken could get unrotted customization options and paladins as a result. Sounds good to me!

This.

Light conflicts with undead since Light and Death magic Conflict, and a major source of undead are death magic.

However, we have had Void undead (people brought back to life with void magic) as well as Life undead. So now Light is dabbling into bringing back the dead.

TBH I would be more upset if I was a death lord and all these other lords start dabbling and negating you.

I don’t really like the name light forged undead. I would prefer naming them Lightborn Undead.

Its ironic that this BE probably supports Sylvanas taking over as the leader of the Horde (and Elves in the Horde) but doesn’t understand why a Tauren, Orc or Troll who may have rolled long before Sylvanas took over is upset that they are now the undead and elf faction.

Unless you’re referencing some other posts OP’s made, I don’t see why hating Calia as leader of the Forsaken means loving Sylvanas as leader of the Horde (much less telling other players they should love her too).

Plot twist: Calia rebuilds Lordaeron for the new Lightforged Forsaken race, while Sylvanas is cleansed and resurrected and rebuilds a new Highborne society in the ruins of Teldrassil :stuck_out_tongue:

If you read the book before the storm it makes more sense IMO. Sylvannas’ brought this one on herself.

I believe the OPs point was that they made a Forsaken character based on certain characteristics and bringing in a new leader that is diametrically opposed to those characteristics might upset said players.

I made Horde characters based on a certain characteristic. Bringing in Sylvanas, a new leader that is diametrically opposed to those characteristics or adding Blood Elves to the Horde (which the OP is) might upset those players as well

Ironic no?

I guess I don’t really get your point? Are you saying people aren’t allowed to be upset about Calia because you’re upset about Sylvanas? Are you somehow blaming OP for Blizzard making Sylvanas warchief?

It would only be ironic if OP was sitting there saying “suck it Tauren players, you better enjoy having Sylvanas as your warchief” and then turning around to complain about Calia.

I guess you only read half and ignored the other half because it fits what you want to argue about?

I will cut out the second point and focus on the main one so you can understand. Blood elves do not belong in the Horde. They are as out of place with orcs, trolls and tauren as a lightforged undead is with forsaken.

Im kinda curious how Blood elves would be seen as diametrically opposed to the idea of the Horde. They are a devastated race struggling to survive and were spurned by the Alliance. Is it because they are pretty and dont live in huts?

3 races of brotastic jock warriors that fight for sport.
1 race of skinny little book worms that didn’t even have warriors at first.
1 race of emo kids who hate everyone because they are unloved.

HMMM

It sounded to me like your main complaint was about Sylvanas being warchief, I didn’t realize you were just annoyed at Op for being a Blood Elf.

Honestly, its just not that I am annoyed. Its the irony that someone could be so mad at others, while they are doing the same thing themselves

Sounds like a personal aesthetic reason not an actual lore reason, to me. By all story elements they were in much the same posistion as the other core races when they joined.

All lore aside, a lightforged simply doesn’t have the same ties as Sylvanas and blizzard hasn’t (to my knowledge) written any to take her place. Derek Proudmoore COULD have been but blizzard needed him to imprison Baine and thus create new division for the Horde. I think it’s very possible she could be placed in charge if only because again division within the horde.

Have you read before the storm?

With the current division in the Horde and the way Slyvanas has been written I do not see her making it into the next expac. I was hoping it wouldn’t be Garrosh 2.0 but I can’t help but see that happening.

Slyvanas has no love for the other Horde races. They’re all means to a end for her and she has no love for her own people. She wants the Forsaken to continue on purely for purposes of power. She wanted the members of the Desolate council to come back spurned by their living loved ones to harbor a new resentment for the living and killed the ones who were enjoying their connections. What leader wants their subjects to bitter and resentful? One who wants unquestioned loyalty to the Banshee Queen not the warchief. She will never have the support in the living races of the Horde as she does with those of the Forsaken, look at the division thats been sowed after Teldrassil.

I don’t particularly like how it’s all shaking out but I see Sylvanas going and Calia coming in as someone the living races of the Horde can work with that isn’t going to be as dark as Sylvanas. Someone the Horde has who can fill the Honorable void that Sylvanas has made.

They’ve already said Sylvanas isn’t going to die and placing a patsy on the throne makes logical sense. The forsaken adore their queen (at least as far as I know) even though the feeling isn’t mutual. I forsee an event where the remaining horde is forced to accept Calia as the leader lest the forsaken be annihilated. Maybe, maybe not it’s too early to tell and I don’t know if I want to bother buying a blizzcon virtual ticket.

I for one would welcome Allied Manbearpigs.

Also this expacs story is hot stinky garbage. Who cares?
