Retcon Calia, reverse Lightforged nonsense

But you wouldnt have abandoned lorderon in her shoes? In the wake of the scourge you’d stand tall with the people against the absolute power of the undead in its prime. Youd have died.

I didn’t know Dr Strange was over here on the forums.

Looking into the future for all possible outcomes? And 100% is “she dies, and the name disappears”?

Leonid Barthalomew would like to have a conversation with you.

If they want the ship’s continuing loyalty, yeah.

Just like it has been for the past 15 years of WoW, until Blizzard suddenly decided they needed to shoehorn this character in?

It’s fine for the line of Menethils to be a name of history.

This. Her “resurrection” was not possible via normal Light powers, so the Naaru intervened. It’s canon lore, and part of the storyline.

Yeah, I mean isn’t it more likely she’d have become Forsaken herself? And maybe become a leader of some sort back when Undercity was founded, etc?

It’s more of a reality than going into hiding if you stayed in Lorderon. Look at Agaman mill. The story behind that is they barred themselves in away from the city in the place they thought was safe. The scourge would pass over they’d be fine. They doomed themselves to death.

Ok. So why is the only alternative “disappearing for 20-30 years”?

Why couldn’t she go to a place of safety, and immediately start working with her people that she cared so much about?

She had so many options and ways to lead her people that didn’t involve her dying. But she didn’t.

She wanted to show up 20-30 years later, feel Sylvanas is an usurper (can you usurp a crown from someone that abdicated?), and feel she is the rightful ruler, based on her birthright.

I was just as surprised as anyone else in the return of Calia and seeing her in the priest order hall. I would have been fine if she had died and the Menethils were just a name tainted by Arthas but they obviously have plans.

If you played the Priest order campaign in Legion, she was there in Netherlight Temple and becomes one of your followers. She’s been back for awhile.

I don’t have to like something just because Blizzard’s planning on it.

If “but my family line would have died otherwise” is supposed to make me not care that Calia escaped and lived off on her own while the rest of her people suffered, I’m saying it doesn’t.

Again. She flees to stormwind and seeks the aid of the other human kingdoms. The people of lorderon are under Arthas control. "Hey king llane. Wanna commit your people to saving my literally wiped out kingdom or do you wanna give me some of your sovereign territory so I can have a new Lorderon?

The forsaken thanks to slyvanas bresk free of arthas and gain their own free will. Do you think even as they have their own minds theyre ready to be under the Menethil name again? Hell no.

They have had time to live in their undeath. Miss their loved ones know what it’s like under sylvanas and for a brief time to small group of forsaken know there was someone trying to shine a light on them not being mindless monsters in the eyes of the alliance.

Right. She was there with Alonsus laying low wondering what to do. It wasn’t until meeting Anduin she even really left the temple.

And Horde side…

This is like screaming into the wind. Calia will soon be the Forsaken leader when Sylvanas is deposed.

Yeah… maybe instead of undead it is something new… just to throw out some terms like: non-dead, sans-a-death, Less-Living, LivingMinusMinus, the Re-living, re-beings, or The Restore-a-lings.

Well… maybe none of these work. Maybe Blizzard will come up for a new name for the recently-dead-but-not-anymore-because-of-the-light type people.

Lets see who’s really behind the OP!

I don’t want Sylvannas to face consequences for her actions?!

OMG-- reminds me of an episode of Scooby Doo.

On the OP-- I hope they keep it. :rainbow:

Well, that is the worst possible writing I can imagine. It makes no sense. It benefits the Alliance more than the Horde. So you are probably right.

It does, actually. It’s been confirmed that when Forsaken Priests invoke Holy magic, they are in a lot of pain. The light actually burns them.
