The newbie zone is filled with retail people asking when they roll either Alliance or Horde because once they do they get a retail mount.
Initially, I thought it was a mount for everyone and I asked how do I get the mount since I finished the newbie zone.
They said it was for retail only to get them to come over and try the Pre-Patch.
Is that correct?
Yes, that is the correct answer.
Just did it last night on Bloodsail Buccaneers, and kept my interactions as unobtrusive as possible so as not to disturb the other players.
Edit: Failed to mention, but BB is an RP server, hence the exercise in caution.

If you just finished recently, sometimes it takes a bit for these cross promotions to fully register. I think I remember the Death Knight mount back in Wrath Classic taking anywhere between a few hours to a few days to process
Still haven’t gotten the mount.
youll get the mount once MoP drops - youre welcome - stay safe out there!
It’s a dragonriding mount.
went to a different source and found you don’t get it if your playing the ptr but the classic cata game.
…Why on earth would you think it counted if you did it on the PTR when it’s specifically advertising the live prepatch…?

Remember back in Wrath Classic they did the same thing when you played a death knight. So this really isn’t a new thing.
the mount comes real soon after you complete the intro.
I got mine as soon as I logged off cata/mop prepatch wow once a panda was done to see SW. I hit the retail install and the mount in the present box was all ready to open up and just waiting there.
they’d need to put a ticket in really. it be the deluxe edition that has some content that opens up actual release day iirc.
