The ad campaign has been pretty heavy today.
LMAO FFXIV is is a meh mmo. The whole time I played it I felt like I was playing a solo player mmo. Even when I did dungeons no one would talk. Outside in the world I rarely saw people say anything. Felt like it was just me out there. I prefer seeing active chat so I know at least I am playing with people.
Also, glad you felt the need to post in the WoW forums to promote FFXIV. Sounds to me like FFXIV is losing people. Yet another case of a FFXIV fanboi needing to post in the WoW forums because big brother isn’t paying attention to them anymore and they need to get our attention.
I will say the closest was SWG if you ever played that. That community was amazing and by far the best mmo community I have seen to date and I have tried and put in time in almost all main stream mmos. Of course there was toxicity at times but overall people would even just log on to chill in a cantina with people and just socialize.
I am guessing between the off color Yoshi P remark in an interview and the NFT game has called for a new astroturfing campaign.
Great. It was so much fun last time.
I wish all those ffixv people would stop comparing the two games, world of warcraft and ffivx has nothing to do with one another… I will never ever ever ever ever like ffiiivx… or what ever those roman numbers are …therefore I dont care about that game and its shoudl stay out of world of warcraft forums… period. yall like that game … so go play it and leave us world of warcraft players alone… we like our game…
I have been playing Final on/off compared to my bf who has taken less breaks than me for 4 years… We had maybe 2 negative encounters… compared to WoW which seems to be an ongoing encounter of ppl not giving a flyin hoot. You guys getaway with things that on the final would have been addressed so quickly you prob wouldn’t even be able to return to the game.
I mean that’s your experience and that’s wonderful, thanks for sharing.
I have no issues with either community generally.
You’re also the same person that boots ppl for whatever…
that doesnt happen over there in casual content, pretty much ever. granted i dont really run LFR or dungeons over here anymore, but i dont remember that happening over here ever, either. so im not sure what point youre making
i mean, i dont. people in this game can be (and often are) unnecessarily rude and elitist. at the end of the day these are just video games, i dont really ever see a need to treat people like garbage
14 has a competitive community too. they just aren’t as blatant about being a-holes when things don’t go their way and typically they try to help people out
Nah, FF has the same community as wow. same experience.
I honestly think the same could be true in wow. You just need to find the right people. I don’t see a big difference in any online gaming community.
If I wanted to ride Chocobo’s and try to memorize a 30 row rotation flawlessly with weaving in and out of other classes buffs I’d go play FFXIV.
Idk i found the whole witchhunting of the competitive community over addons that did net neutral on the WF Dragonsong was pretty bad. Especially when it got other streamers on the crossfire.
As a druid, i can play as Tank, healer, dps. I play as healer as im good at it, but i used to play as a tank.
When you are the tank, you MUST know the routes, and unless you say “im new, someone can point me the way?” Everything that happened was your fault. Being social is an important part of an MMO.
You have the blame because you failed at being a tank, that is, having the leadership of the group. As a healer, i ignore the dps and follow the tank, but when the tank does not know the way, i ask him, point him the way, help him.
But if you remain silent and fail as a leader, then is not a community thing, but a personal problem of yours.
No kidding. To quote herself to use against herself since it practically sums up what she has said.
If you’re in a keystone, and you don’t perform well, thus basically ruining the run, is it toxic to be upset at that player in a pug? It’s almost always a pug that bad behavior happens and is announced. Is there even pugs in FF14?
I’ve been playing since BC, and not once has a raider, or top tier player player been rude to me. A lot of them will actually help you if you’re polite and they have the time. Again, I’m just not seeing it. I know this is my personal experience, but you can’t come to an all encompassing view of the community based on pugging. I never seen guild drama anymore because it’s largely rare. Pvp is pvp, and world questing and activities are fine as well. Pugging is competitive play with rando’s, of course in any game that would have effects especially if there’s things on the line. I don’t think FF14 is beyond that, they probably just don’t have those stakes at play.
I swear I saw this EXACT thread like 5 days ago or something. It’s worded slightly different but it said the same thing. Feels like a copy-pasta. They listed a bunch of other mmo games, talked about retail community being horrible. Then gave an anecdote about a personal experience in a dungeon.
The details are slightly different but the post is eerily similar in structure and tone. I’m curious if this is the same OP as well.
You know what’s funny? they (the fanboys) don’t care if the rest of the company is just as bad or worse then Blizzard’s. Like Squenix has a lot more games and a lot more greedy shenanigans, but “Oh, Ff14 Yoshi p! that’s mean Squenix is friend! Blizzard bad because they have nothing but bad games, Activision changed them to be bad! And Bill Gates wouldn’t help that since they ruined rare, bethesda and so on!! THEY RELEASED DIABLO IMMORAL!!”
Then Marvel Avenger’s, The Quiet Man, Final Fantasy all the Bravest and chokboo GP racing, Babylon’s Fall, Deus Ex Mankind Divided crowd pre-ordering, and FF NFT’s and so on has entered the chat.
"Oh but… but… but… FF14!! Yoshi P Cares!!! "
Notice how they post, complain, then never say another word in their own topic. Just another hit n run.
Trolling 101
Good strong thread title, it gets them in the thread
bait responses with controversial subject material; more abrasive is better
wait and watch. Never reply.
The hallmark of a good troll is it gets a ton of replies without needing to add fuel to the fire.
