That’s the issue right? Even if you CC the ret it doesn’t secure the go or stop the sanc from doing its full potential, and while making the ret use a trinket is still a W for the enemy team this is the part that people don’t like. If Sanc was completely proactive it wouldn’t be complained about nearly as much.

Not entirely, Bramot has pre sanc’d me on a dance that was meant to peel me from securing a kill more then once. Though 90% of the time you are correct.
If you were fighting a dk or enhancement shaman you would not look them in the face while intim → trap the healer because they would ground/ams the trap right? You would likely commit a scatter or something else to allow you to do this. Likewise, you would not intim → trap in a ret’s face but rather scatter the ret, stun the healer, stun the ret, trap the healer. You’re so caught up on the proactive/reactive you don’t realize you just need to play the same exact way into ret but you choose to complain that sanc is a problem.

The changes don’t need to be anything drastic- make freedom undispellable and buff final verdict damage by a modest amount.
Most of my game, I am literally doing everything I can and everyone on my team is flopping. Ret doesn’t apply enough pressure to really make a meaningful impact on a game.
The problem right now is that Ret even with it’s “decent” healing throughput is basically gimped because these other classes are so overly tuned right now that it makes Ret heals feel completely useless. When you have classes like Rogues, Ferals, Mages, and Ele Shams doing close to 100-0 in damage in a few globals 100k HPS from a Ret isn’t gonna do much considering a healer doing 1 mil HPS doesn’t do much.
If you want to play ret this xpac you better enjoy the “let’s twiddle our thumbs while we wait for one of our teammates to die” simulator. It just has zero pressure no matter which subspec you decide to play.
Are you legit stupid or trolling me? Divine Shield usable while under forbearance is not a defensive buff? Forbearance duration reduced to 20secs is not a defensive buff? LoH no longer effected by healing reduction including dampening btw… not a defensive buff!?! And there’s much more, I swear paladins are so ridiculous and it’s never enough for you guys unless you’re literally God tier you always think you’re trash lol. I wish my DH got half of the love paladins have gotten this expansion with constant changes, buffs, reworks. GTFO

Dog ret is wild. I’ve seen people chunking for half of HP bars and the new LoH is insane. Better than big healer CDs. It’s a priest’s life swap with no downside and a huge armor buff lol
