Ret Paladin Deserves Slight Buff

yeah the ulduar ilvl buff may as well have a big sign that says “im to help dps warrior” around its neck

Ret is beating out warriors across the board. You just don’t want to drop to last place. Someone always has to be last.

No it isn’t. I just dont care about your lower percentiles. Dont talk to me about people who cant play their class

1% of Fury’s are beating rets and you think that means the entire ret population should get buffed? Maybe arms should get buffed so it’s better than ret by that logic.

Lowest percentile I’m willing to discuss is 95. and fury is still beating ret there.

arms doesnt need a buff because they can spec fury

but if you want to discuss arms buffs, im not opposed to it.

And ret is still beating arms. You’re right, if I want to perform better I can respect to fury. If you want to perform better you can respect to prot.

So you’re just choosing to stick your head in the sand now? You’ve literally been provided with two pieces of evidence that Fury warriors are out dpsing Rets.

If your guild is forcing you to go Arms instead of having a rogue go combat, then I’m sorry they’re not making great decisions. But you still have the option to dps as Fury. We don’t have the option to dps as another spec.

thats the illogical argument. you have two dps specs to choose from. I have one. my tank spec does nearly as much dmg as my dps spec.

this is not okay.

Two different roles. If you’re going to want honest engagement in this discussion, try not insulting everyone’s intelligence.

I’ve been told that 5% or rets arebeing beaten by warriors. You guys are failing to acknowledge that overall ret is beating fury and are the ones “sticking your heads in the sand”.

And you didn’t know this before you rolled ret?

again, nobody cares about data gathered by people who cant play their class.

And nobody cares that rets are crying they are badwhen they all knew they would be bad anyway lol.

cool. then you can move on about your day

Oh the literal pvp spec…what would you say is the literal paladin pvp spec?

My assertion is that its not unreasonable to think that a class only capable of dps should be better at dps in most scenarios. I said Ret should provide viable dps, how you want to frame viable is up to you but I’m thinking that if Ret dps provides enough dps (along with its other utility) to clear encounters without catered support that should be the mark to shoot for. No matter what balancing happens there will be a spectrum of dps along which all specs will fall…somebody is always gonna be in last place…given what else the class can do I don’t think its some unbelievably shocking notion that perhaps paladins don’t need to be above average in all of their specs. As a druid main, I’d say the same for Boomie and feral cat. Viable does not equate to worthless.

Either way I’ll default back to my original thought here

the literal paladin pvp spec is pret which does not talent into divine storm instead using 1h/shield and shield slam for st damage, burst with reckoning (a talent that only procs when getting hit) and increased survivability.

any other questions?

It’s not even that. Top parses also correspond to better gear, which means warriors are working as intended: steadily progressing on their way to the top.

Retadins are staying at the bottom until they finally have access to a tier piece for which the talents we are provided with are balanced around. Doesn’t make sense.

How would you say that spec performs in pvp?

better than full deep ret.

Imagine punching yourself in the face then complaining that it hurt. That is basically what every ret pally in this thread is doing.
