What are you talking about? Ret/war was the highest represented comp above 2400, in rank 1 range, and the literal rank 1 team on the entire ladder.

Ya it went from a 99% winrate against non-rets to an 80% winrate against non-rets. Its almost like its still beyond a level of normal balance. Ret, war, and demo are the biggest offenders of game balance atm.
There is no need to rating-shame you. You just show your lack of experience with your complains.
Imagine an UDK pre nerfs complaining about aff locks? Thats what you are doing rn, but for a different class.

I guess i wasnt playing then lol. Sure seems like fire mage dominated every season of sl maybe i was just blinded by the fact that ret was a free kill for me the entire time.

Quick advice for you : nova ret >> spellsteal freedom > sit 21+ yards > feel safe. Can be closer sometimes, but the damage from that range is manageable by your healer.
“Us” is not a correct word. I am talking to you directly. No need to showoff infront of anyone, since you will always find something to complain about, instead of improving. Esp playing a class that is top tier from beta to present times.

I wasn’t aware that frost mages could 1) steal freedom in one global 2) have a movement increase ability to get away from rets steed gap closers 3) Could just forever cast while moving. You also act like every match is only played in open fields where people are free to position entirely at specific ranges despite enemy positioning and the likelyhood of your team getting hit instead.
Mages are one of the least played classes this expansion for PvP, and frost had an % of people 2.4k+ etc as ret PRE-REWORK

It’s funny how often I spell steal 5 times until I go oom effectively cc’ing myself for 7 seconds while a ret is beating on me and never get BoP or freedom.

Yeah you can try to spell steal targets early but often by the time you need to, tons of other buffs up - and people try to cover their buffs.
Truth, that works. Some people are smart about covering buffs as well.
I have a WA that shows me whenever someone doesn’t have AI so I cast it when I have an extra global for purge protection.
Luminousity Gaming is an exception tho. you give the same comp to golden guardians and they wouldn’t pull that off.

Slow fall helps too, just don’t slow fall friendlies vs enemies with knockbacks. Lower duration, but it does suck that mages alter time is also dispellable as like their MAIN defensive.
LG is good however they were playing on Alt’s against Where’s Gordy mains for 10+ years. (Mage/Lock) which is supposed to be the only counter to Ret. And they are also exceptionally skilled players… And again… its their mains.
And for LG they just picked up those characters… like a week or two ago.
Unfortunately slowfall isn’t magic anymore
