Respect the artist, and deal with consequences

I’m quite sure we all respect the art and sound teams at Blizzard. Its the devs we take issue with.

WoW is great because of us, the players. Blizurd is not Michelangelo but a producer of our game. They should stop focusing on artistic self expression and focus on making content which we enjoy.

they did want feed back that was useful, turns out the feedback people thought was useful really wasnt. says more about the whiners than the devs yall think to much of your selves.

There’s tons of good feedback in the beta forums that’s not as crazy as GD.

well they obviously were not good in blizzards eyes . based on how blizzard talks about it now its obviously doing better than you think. remember blizzard has more access to the information of what players like and dont than us so id take their view rather than some random player or some streamer/youtuber and their simp communities lol

If I were to write a lengthy and very racist post for everyone here to see, would that be considered art?

It would elicit a very emotional response, thats for sure, is emotional response a signified of what is or isnt art?

Better yet, are vehicles art? The designer crafted something from his vision, you can experience any range of emotions when you see it, and you can also interact with it.

Shelby partners with ford to improve mustangs. Hennessey racing with dodge. They provide feedback to the designers and engineers to help them build a better car. Should they respect the car manufacturers artistic freedoms and not offer improvements to the base car?

If well written, might be

Because their vision is garbanzo.

Eh, I don’t watch streamers, and I see feedback from players in the beta as valid. Assuming Blizz is all knowing and thus always right doesn’t make sense, because every one of the last 3 expansions has been years of them walking back the stuff they insisted was great over player objections.

So I guess we can agree to disagree.

based on what ion said the all the systems are intertwined and i dont think it is even possible at this point to pull the rip cord.

You ever wonder why so many people are so fanatically devoted to Blizzard, that they honestly think that they can do no wrong?

It’s kinda fascinating, but also kinda sad to me. They dismiss any and all criticism, because in their minds, the blind still have vision, and that cliff they’re leading you all toward is just what they think is the right way to go about this journey.

it was awesome i still love it people who think like you aka the ones who are group thinkers who think those who dont think like them are the problem with wow.

Yes. Vehicles are art. Just because you can drive a car, doesn’t mean it can’t be art, especially when we get into the car mods and such, as well decorating your car with hood ornaments and painting stripes and all the other fancy stuff. Whether it be from the creator who created the car or the consumer.

Computer parts are the same way. Look at somebody’s computer that has RGB lights and a cool design for their case while running on 4k 144fps on ultra. How is that not art?

Infact, this can easily apply to everything, including food. Perfect example. Chocolate sculptures, fantastically decorated candy, beautiful wedding cakes, and it’s not even limited to bakery or junkfood goods. Mix and max flavors and such to see which combinations work.

Theirs art in everything… not just aesthetics, but also the non-aesthetics. There’s even art in capitalism, as ironic it sounds.

If your argument that video games are just products… well yea, we recognize their products, but that doesn’t make them less art. Especially when you have people like Hideo Kojima, CDPR and the Creators of Fallout 1 and 2, as well a bunch of other passionate indie devs these days are out to create art, and not just in the aesthetic sense, but have memorable experiences. You play games and that game stick with you because it’s memorable.

Going back to games, you can have both improvements in gameplay and improvements in graphics, it’s not a zero sum economy where you have to pick one or the other. You can have great art and great gameplay. Like i said, look at the list i have listed before.

People take Video games seriously because it’s very mainstream right now to a point where it’s part of the culture just like movies. How many times we pass by a store and we see video game characters on things even if were not in a video game store? How many video games became movies or TV shows? and Vice versa? They are proven to be as artistic like movies and books, and music. They are proven to have a cultural impact on us, like movies, books and music.

Are they the Sixteenth Chapel, Betoveen, Shakephere’s hamlet, Citizen Kane and the Mona Lisa? No. And quite frankly, not a lot of medium we consume is that level, even art itself. The poker dogs isn’t at that level, but does that make it not art?

If you truly believe you don’t think video games are art, then why praise the art team? why praise the graphic designers? Why praise the story writers? Why ask for cosmetics? Why ask for customizations? why ask for Ray tracing? why ask for gear and mdoels to look better? why be interested in the zones they are creating? Why be interested in the screenshots they have? why care about and praise cinematics they have at all? You just said video games aren’t art, so why care all about that? :man_shrugging:

That’s literally what happened in BFA. The devs wanted to do something the community didn’t like, so people didn’t play BFA.

Nah fam, I play the game for the gameplay and friends. If I played to experience the story I would literally have unsubbed two years ago. Thankfully I don’t, and no, when I see garbage I’m going to call it garbage.
