Respect the artist, and deal with consequences

Sometimes people are so arrogant like they design the game themselves…
Nobody respects the WoW team’s vision for what they do. They imagine their game as an RPG where you have choices, that’s the game them, as arstists, want to create. You don’t want to play it ? You don’t have to, come back next expansion. Or not.

You don’t go to cinema to see movies you don’t want to see. You don’t read books you think are boring. Don’t tell people how to craft their art. Take it or leave it. When they ask feedback, give it as humbly as they receive it, and accept that they have the final word on THEIR craft.

All I see for weeks now it the inability to deal with choice and consequences. It’s a childish I want the best of all worlds reaction. I want to be optimal in every content and get the sets and mounts I want, and change it whenever I want. Amazing… get out, live a bit. Wow doesn’t allow you to be a skyrim hero master of all guilds, and savior of the world. And that’s good.

And guys don’t even start with balance, I see people sticking to a middle tier dps spec 20 or 30% dps under the top tier dps specs and rambling about loosing some dps because of their covenant. If you truly wanted to be optimal, you would play race/class according to patch’s top tier. And the game would be sad. If you can accept (like it has been since the beginning of wow) that to every patch some specs will be on top, some at the bottom, you can then accept that covenants will be the same. And they will be tweaked during expansion, and some classes will go up, others down, and so on, as usual…

Thanks a lot WoW team for your work, you made us dream for so many years. Don’t mind the haters, keep listenning to the feedback and make your own decisions, even it they are against mainstream voice. That’s true art.

Edit before it even starts : yes i post on lvl 11 toon because i have european account, and i had to lvl this up just to be able to post here

You created a new account and leveled it up just to post? Seems silly. Why not just let it go? You know they’re going to continue to whine anyway.

If they don’t want to listen to the feedback, they shouldn’t ask. Just put out the game and say play it or don’t.

Yeah… actually I believe you are right that they won’t stop, but as a content creator myself, I believe it’s nice for the WoW team so see that they also have people supporting their vision. I’m not particularly happy I won’t be optimal since i raid Mythic and Dungeon too, but i’m ok with the fast that this is the game i’ll be playing, and it’s ok.

I agree. Posts about throwing out the entire thing is silly. Better to post respectful suggestions and assume things will be tweaked as needed. For example panda food racial may be too strong, some covenant abilities are too strong with certain specs. Things can be balanced, it may just take a while. I don’t mind the idea of needing to choose a covenant based on AOE, single target or PVP. I’ll pick the better one for my play style and make do. I don’t expect to be top an anything. Those that are super competitive don’t want to choose, and be gimped, but I support choices myself.

I think every choice will be able to do mythic if they put in the effort.

No, feedback is to understand the feelings of the people that will receive the final piece, and see if some changes can be made without betraying the essence of what you’re trying to build. Not every point of feedback HAS to be adressed, nor should it.

Content creator on Youtube?

Does it matter? Creativity takes all forms.

Fair enough. I can respect that.

Generally when people call themselves “content creators” they’re referring to Youtube or Twitch, which I don’t particularly respect.

I don’t respect this decision at all. They are making me choose between character power and aesthetics. It’s not a fun choice for me so I hate it.

Yes actually, because when i hear the word “content creator” i immediately think of YouTube. If it doesn’t matter, i wouldn’t be asking.

And i was kinda asking her to specify it. :no_mouth:

But she did. She’s already said what she does.

Exactly the essence of choice. It makes us ask ourselves, what is important ?
If is it player power (which i understand), they you’ll get the cosmetic rewards later on, or on an alt.
If it is cosmetic, they you’ll sacrifice a bit of power now until you get your rewards.

Okay.
No longer wonders why the starving artist is a stereotype.

Yes, she said she’s a content creator.

She didn’t specify what kind of content creator. Like is she a YouTube content creator, a video game content creator, or something else? Content creator is a pretty nebulous term once you stop associating it with YouTube.

If you know what type of Content creator she is, let me know or point it out instead of doing “Oh she already explained it to you” without pointing it out or explaining why, which isn’t helpful.

But until then, this question is directed at Adraelle.

It’s not art, it’s a videogame. It’s purpose is function, not devotion.

Grow a set, and demand the function that you want from your entertainment.
