The thing is the word Retard is non offensive term.
Retard: delay or hold back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment.
When I worked for the railroad they actually had devices called retarders that were installed beside the track and they would catch a rail car going down a grade and slow them down. They are used for switching so the cars don’t run into each other too fast.
In all seriousness though the slang term of it needs to go. Not only is it offensive but its dated anyways. As a society we need to come up with a good slang term that won’t offense anybody to describe somebody bad at a game.
I’m not avoiding it or disagreeing with OP’s general post re: language filters. All I’m pointing out is that there are areas in business where the word is used in normal conversation.

With new heroes being added all the time, there’s always something to do.
Yeah, but by adding that to the language filter it will censor people to those using the filter.
Unless you choose to turn the filter off.
Then you get to see all the colorful phrases this community can muster.
First off retardism medically isn’t autism, it’s caused by completely unrelated genetically caused medical conditions like Trisomy, so anybody mistaking autism for retardation causing genetic disorders has already proven themselves a completely uneducated dunce… secondly some people (such as moi, and I hate to toot my own horn so to speak) are actually of average or gifted+ intelligence with Aspergers, so that’s a further reduction from the idea of the “everyone with autism is a vegetable” theorem. You know what people with autism are though? We’re depressed… depressed our “intelligence” is wasted in low pay jobs or other such circumstances. And besides that; given how many “words” I’ve seen misused or misspelled on here by so many posters, any of these people in game calling someone “Retarded” is rich irony indeed, rich amusing irony…

Jeez people are tone def and insensitive to things. They want it added to the language filter with no punishment attach to its use. That is what the language filter is for and the system is adaptable enough to include new words. Honestly not to long ago that wasnt considered as bad as a word but it has since become a derogatory term. Why is that a problem for people to accept?

This is completely wrong. A word being on the language filter doesn’t mean you can use it. You can be silenced and even banned for cursing in game.
I’ve never seen Rick and Morty. I just know the crappy memes. So I have no idea what you’re talking about.
I would watch it, but the fanbase is cancer and so is the animation style. I know the animation is supposed to be ugly, so maybe the show just isn’t for me.

No problems, to give the scene context a cat had just caused him to roll off the counter and into the sun, while nearly dying of dehydration rick states: “this is the mega-genius equivalent of dying on the toilet.” seconds before it starts raining only for pickle-Rick to then float down the street and end up in the sewer.
Honestly, why can’t we have a custom language filter, that way we can censors any words we want, players can still say uncensored words but those who censored those words won’t be able to see them.
