I’m not looking for the word to be removed. I want it to be filtered, like other offensive words, which show up in symbols.

Well, that answered my question. Was curious if the forum system would flag the word and prevent you from using it. There are quite a few I’ve come across that made me scratch my head. The other day I saw someone say they couldn’t use the short version of Methamphetamine.

Originally it was simpleton, then it became feeble-minded, then moron, then retarded, and now its intellectual disability.
They were the scientific classifications that people used derogatorily so they just changed the word.
Do you think people wont find a way to use “intellectual disability” in a derogatory way?
At this rate we’re going to have the alphabet full of words we can’t say because it offends someone. The A-word, the B-word, the C-word, the D-word all the way through to the Z-word.

People literally pay monthly to play this game, obviously you should be able to censor all offensive words if you would so choose. Anyone that has a problem with this is just a hate-monger likely trying to use the guise of free speech even though nobody is silencing you. If you believe in freedom people should have the freedom to not listen to your useless hateful slurs especially on a platform they pay for.

Just lectured my guild on this the other day. Words have an impact.
I’m sorry that there has been so much negative rhetoric thrown at you and your message for such a reasonable request to add a derogatory word to the language filter.

It can be, especially to certain people such as the OP. I was speaking generally though.
If you mean to self censor then sure.
This is a great response. So many people want to change/filter/force/control other peoples behavior. I’m sorry but you can’t do that and imo it’s wrong. Unfortunately this is the way of thinking nowadays. What people really need to do is learn how to handle people that upset them.

Joking aside, I personally don’t like the word and found it was always used in a hurtful manner while growing up.
It is too long to be used as an insult. You need short and snappy for that.
I’m trying to figure out if the people pushing back just don’t understand how the chat filter works, or if they’re mad at the idea of the people they’re trying to offend the most not being able to see what they’re saying and therefore not getting offended.
Unfortunately these days I’m thinking it’s the latter.

I don’t know, hearing a “chad-type” scream “YOU INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY” might cause the person they’re trying to insult to break out in laughter. It’s too long, insulting terms tend to be shorter, presumably so the scrambled egg who yells it can quickly pretend they didn’t do anything.
