Reporting system in game

Im curious about it is it automated or is it peer reviewed first?

mmhmm, asking for a friend are ya?

no im asking for me. I read a few yesterday and i was curious if its automated or peer reviewed. i read a case in classic that its automated and thats it so yeah

automatically peer reviewed.

:^)

If you’re reporting someone for language or spam they will get an auto squelch until a GM can review it and if warranted the GM will silence them for a duration of time.

OP: Squealches are automated. Silence penalties are manually reviewed by an employee, and double in duration with each successive infraction.

Just to clarify, 1 single person reporting someone will not trigger a squealch, it takes multiple people reporting for that to happen. How many people it takes isn’t something Blizzard has told us.

Probably best. I could see guilds using it as a weapon against rivaling clans or outed guildies.

It’s all automated, Asmongold proved this live on his stream.

Dungeon deserter and bg deserter are also automated as far as I know.

With bg deserter sometimes the reported person is given a 1 minute “grace period” to get into PvP combat (and doing so clears off the debuff). But if there are enough reports made at the same time the player can just be kicked out instantly.

With dungeon deserter I believe the person just gets kicked immediately, I’m not aware of any grace period for it.

Asmongold was squealched, because he asked a large number of his viewers to report him at the same time, which they did. Additionally, he was asking people to falsely report him, which is not allowed. Abuse of the reporting system and whatnot.

I believe it’s automated.

On that same note Asmongold didn’t prove anything, it’s always been known that a squelch is automatic. A squelch is not a silence.

Everything in this game is automated as much as possible.

Gone are the days when you’d get nice whispers from GMs who would roleplay as they answered your question/ticket. It’s all just a bot now. That’s always why it takes 7-14 days for a lot of tickets to be looked at.

Reports are not peer reviewed. That’s a sure thing. Only employees review things.

Nothing is peer reviewed.

It’s GM reviewed.

the only thing he proved, is that people are gullible and they’ll eat up anything he says and continue to tout it as gospel for years to come.

Well you are right but also wrong at the same time.

One report does set things in motion however it just get’s looked at faster with more reports.

1 report will not result in an auto squelch, as you incorrectly stated here:

However, 1 report will most likely be ‘on the record’ for whenever a person might have enough reports for an employee to take a look at the account.

It’s clear you don’t hang around the CS forum a lot i am quite sure the regulars and the SFA there would beg to differ on your generalization.

1 person reporting someone will not result in a squealch. Sorry. There is no way blizzard would allow that to happen.

There needs to be multiple people reporting for a squealch to go through.

What’s with all the threads about the report system? Did people run out of stuff to complain about?
