What are you basing your assumption that it is happening from?
Do you have actual factual numbers to back up your claims?
There’s plenty of people who gets a justified ban that will make a public post to complain and lie about why they got banned to garner sympathy.
I haven’t seen any substantial proof that people are getting banned falsely, I don’t know anyone who got banned falsely, I know several people who got justifiably banned and in fact, I find that Blizzard is being too nice about their banning game when they only ban people buying gold for 2 weeks when they used to perma ban them.
If you’re seeing something happening that we aren’t, then show it to us. The burden of proof is on you, if you can’t prove it, then your argument is nothing more than a house of cards.

If history has shown us anything, it is that there is always enough people willing to abuse any system they are in to the point of collapse/chaos, most especially any system that lacks any sort of reasonable, enforced anti-abuse/corruption regulations/oversight. That pretty much sums up both RL & the game currently.

Couldn’t agree more - I’m literally sitting through day 2 of a 10 day FULL ACCOUNT SUSPENSION for some basic remarks about the current political climate… in the context of a full-on public discussion about politics… outside of a tower flip in terrokar forrest. Some Charmin-soft emotionally angsty player didn’t like what I said and reported it - boom 10 day suspension. The appeal process is a joke as well.
it’s pathetically weak how some peoples dispositions have become. Maybe instead of bans, wow should just have a trigger-warning on the screen before you enter, or maybe provide servers specifically for adults who can handle a little spice to the game’s player base? At least then paying customers don’t have to sit-out of content or need to actively censor their opinions in order to cater to the perpetually offended.

Here is evidence, although circumstantial, to suggest that someone was banned despite breaking no rules. There is no rule against someone having an opinion that disagrees with your own. I don’t know how crazy the given opinion is, but that shouldn’t matter. Getting people suspended has just become a matter of public opinion rather than the enforcement of rules.
I know people who have been suspended for less and sometimes for nothing at all. Just playing often enough increases your likelihood of receiving reports and once a threshold is reached within a given timeframe then you get suspended. No manually verification by a human to see whether or not a rule has been broken.
If the system allows for it you can guarantee people are going to abuse it.

thats exactly the problem. there’s no REAL appeal process… you can state your case and the response is literally always “no… suspension upheld… ticket closed”.
if you report someone for language, the system should just simply give you an “ignore this person” option.
for a game that literally coined the phrase “barrens chat”… it’s being ruined by the perpetually offended.

yet my whole guild plays every night yet none of them has been banned…its a mystery. Of course none of them discuss politics with trade chat so that might have something to do with it.
The biggest problem with people with this mentality is they’ll never admit when they’re wrong. I can’t tell you how many times in phase 1 Bc a pally would wnat to tank Mag, die. Get mad wipe over and over. Until i’d do it. Sure they will say warrior tanks are Trash but Mag’s dead. and we didn’t wipe.
No mater how many insane feats you pull off in games people who say “You’re trash because you picked this.” Just don’t admit they were wrong. I play Hots this happens to me a lot. I once 1 v 4’d Enemy team in Plat Everyone else was on tilt because i picked Illidan, even though we won the game i was hard reported.

Somehow I am skeptical. I’d ask you to repeat what you said word for word, but I don’t actually want you to be banned from the forums as well.
Surely if what you said is really that benign, there is no reason you can’t be more specific. I could easily imagine a myriad of things that qualify as remarks about the current political climate that are also egregious violations of human decency. The current political climate is, after all, pretty frightening.
You don’t think there are rules that restrict which opinions you can vocalize on this platform? Would you like me to link you to the parts of the code of conduct dealing with say, Hate Speech?
I’m quite fond of those rules, actually. I’ve seen how people talk when they are not enforced.

I feel like it didn’t used to be an issue because the playerbase was just pervaded by people with better dispositions. The “new” classic playerbase is overly competitive and snarky in general toward anyone who doesn’t know literally everything there is to know about the game client.
I literally said with his current track record and capabilities that there was no way we didn’t see a different POTUS in office in 24, regardless of who that might be. The language was VERY slightly more direct than that… but i’m being 110% honest when I say it was literally no different in context and it was amongst a full conversation of people being WAY worse about it than me. real talk.
they can’t meme… but I suppose they have no issue with hitting that report button. Sad. and here I sit… day 3 of a 10 day suspension.
