Free speech isn’t what you think it is. A lot of these toxic people seem to think free speech means its ok to say racist words or insult others…news flash…its not. Your an adult, grow up and learn how to be a decent talker.

Being able to adapt to a different environment’s rulesets are a part of growing up.
The need to hide behind the internet in order to behave badly is really the problem. Needing to act without consequence is a cowardly way to exist.
Fortunately, first offenses are fairly light. Maybe a silence for a day or so.
I don’t really believe in the “outbursts” defense. You may curse when frustrated out loud, but typing it requires multiple key strokes and conscious decisions.
Probably, since we have no way of knowing whether people are being honest or not.
That’s why it’s always so funny when people make these threads in the customer support forum, because those mods are always quite happy to reveal all the things the OP isn’t telling you.

That particular situation has always been a roll of a dice. Just depends on your teammates. I remember seeing threads of people getting reported over battleground rages as far back as TBC.
The most frequent situation where reports happen, if I had to guess, are cases like trade/group chat where an individual is filling chat with a steady stream of curses.
This thread is doing substantial harm to the one functioning brain cell I have left.
I am glad people agree and disagree with me… the one thing i am not happy about is that it is indeed a game… i shall grow up… and shall never say PEW PEW MFer in trade again… that is what i said folks. also the internet quite literally can be treated as just that… nonsense and no one… the hard part that i cannot wrap my head around is how people get really offended at the words of people they do not know and/or will never see in real life never see in game regularly i mean come the heck on yo when does the train stop where you get off because it was uncomfortable and rather than throw others off of the train… you just take yourself out of the situation or strengthen your resolve and tell yourself… because thats all that matters. i witnessed the first case of toxicity in a long time yesterday 
poor shaman bro was getting berated everytime he pressed lust (albeit it def. wasnt optimal usage…) i still felt bad for the dude.
eventually someone straight up called them the r word and i felt so bad i left even if no ill words were spoken directly to me. i left group in a strange case of solidarity for some dude i don’t even know lol.

Maybe that would stop my melee from eating it every.single.time. Lord knows running the elitismhelper addon didn’t do anything but get them to say “Oh I shouldn’t stand in that.” Only to stand in it again 2 seconds later.

In all my years on this rock called Earth I have now realized people do not want freedoms.
They dont want frees speech… They want freedom FROM speech.
I wouldn’t report someone who curses or swears. I have been known to do the same thing. However, I will report someone that uses derogatory terms towards another and will let them know I did so as well.
