Reported. Reported! Gah

The world is not safe. You will get hurt and you cannot stop it. So these new terms and conditions which stifle my creativity in the chats of warcraft are mind boggling. To the point where i say MF in trade and get reported… would this be akin to getting the police called on me for saying what i want running down the main street in my town. Just words. My voice. Every one’s voice. How is it that we have “Free Speech” in U.S. but inside this construct that i’ve played for a long time, i am essentially pre-censored from using afore mentioned word/word’s. By that i mean ahead of time im thinking of funny or down right mean things i could be saying to people with my “words” but i now just dont and the people that are offended the most /scream /cry bloody murder because of their own attitude, not simply, the words i will or will not say. If i get offended by someone in game… blocked bam easy peasy. Now if another gets offended or rather emotionally destabilized by the reading of some words by someone they cant do anything but block them but oh wait Report… whack heres your ban for however long. i mean c’mon you are creating the beachhead for the silencing of peoples thoughts ideas jokes anger sadness… w/e it may be. This is a start of bad news. And where does it end really?

here’s my advice to you:

grow up. be an adult. understand that it being a violation of the rules you agreed to, to run around screaming obscenities isn’t stifling your first amendment rights.

I’m all for free speech but a company is allowed to do what they want as long as it isn’t illegal.

Free speech means you are protected from a tyrannical government and you’re allowed to ridicule them openly.

It doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want to anyone and not have repercussions.

The First Amendment broadly protects the rights of free speech and free press. Free speech means the free and public expression of opinions without censorship, interference, or restraint by the government.

It’s the context around what you say that will get you reported. Maybe dont insult people?

They’re not new.

You and I have a very different definition of “creativity” if you’re getting reported.

Doesn’t exist within private companies. It never has.

Maybe learn to not act so disrespectful towards others because “just words” and “muh creativity.”

Next time don’t be a jerk in an MMO to other people and then there won’t be consequences to your actions.

It always makes me a little sad when I see people who don’t even know their rights or what they mean.

Time and place dude.

Would you go to a school and say that walking the halls during a class change? Try it in a judges court room, or a church. Use some freaking common since man.

Doesn’t apply to a private company’s domain.

I am sad that there is not a way to preemptively disconnect a player’s keyboard to “pre censor” bad behavior. What is so hard about keeping your language in check anyway…you don’t get free gear for using profanity?

If we took a shot everytime someone said that on the forums, we would already be dead.
