A sentient turd would be a better addition to the Alliance than these monstrosities.
I mean…maybe… I guess.
Just not the same though. I want a grumpy turtle who is a rogue and uses sais and wheres that red bandanna head piece >.>
I am not a fan of gnomes (sorry) but I am rather enjoying MGs. Maybe y’all should give them a try?
Xmog is kinda a pain though. If you change up your xmog color scheme, you also have to hit up the barber…
I just saw my first mechagnome player last week, how long have they been a thing now … and I’ve seen 1 lol
They might have just stumbled upon the magic. The Draenei encountered Fel power before the Legion came. It is one of the powers floating around in the universe. (Warlock Demonology Artifact talks about the first Wakeners one of which discovered and studied the Fel)
100% this. Mechagnomes existed and were named as such since WotLK. This is not a mechagnome. They should at least change the AR name to “prosthetic gnomes” or something
Those are just drones for the most part.
Wellp they’re called mechagnomes in-game so.
Eh we’re Gnomes from Mechagon. Mechagnomes. Works for me.
I would say that more options for prosthetic to apply to more of the body would be welcome. Lets add to what we have now rather than just try to throw it away.
Those are called Mechagonians in-game like allll over. I mean sure I’ll sleep fine at night if they add appearance options to be actual mechagnomes, and I’ll just pretend those other ones don’t exist
A shame. We add a lot more to the Alliance than a race of drones could. One of the reasons I think Blizzard went with us rather than the WotLK version.
Still I’d rather pull more for added customization for Mechagnomes to get those who really wanted those WotLK guys then try to make those who actually like Mechagnomes feel bad for liking the race. (Not saying you’re doing that, on purpose or otherwise, but the hate we get is ridiculous.)
You can just call them Mechagnomes.
I do call them that. I was just talking regularly for me and trying to ensure the words I typed were clear at the same time.
I think the fact that the WOTLK MG are all literal robots with a very specific task up in Ulduar is what made that a dead end. They’re not made to go out and fight a faction war, they’re made to be servants to titanic watchers.
Exactly. They’re mostly just drones fulfilling a purpose of maintenance and storage. Its not much to build a culture on for an AR.
Have yet to see a mechagnome, but see plenty of regular gnome players. Never thought about playing a gnome before until Blizz finally made the hunter class available for them. One of my favorite characters now tbh. And the gnome heritage set is one of the better looking heritage sets imo.
The first playable cyborg race in WoW.
And it’s a gnome.
I assumed Sethrak were the intended alliance race (all very symmetrical, from the same continent, gives each faction an allied base - we are part of their story). However, I’m guessing time ran out and Horde stuff is done first and lovingly and ally gets the leftovers. Hence thoughtless mechagnomes and the terrible piece of filler in Mechagon containing heaps of mounts and pets as a means to mollify disgruntled players. It’s a recurring pattern.
Yeah, a lot of Alliance seemed to assume that they’d get Sethrak as an allied race, and I have no idea why. It really doesn’t make sense, you might be a part of their story but so is the Horde, and their home is within Horde-controlled land.
I’m not against them being neutral, I think that would be a reasonable compromise, but they were never going to be the Alliance’s allied race.
And Mechagnomes have existed in lore for a long time, they were even present in Northrend and people have been requesting them as an option ever since. I get that the ones we got are very different from the ones we met back then, but they’ve still existed and been requested for much longer than the Sethrak have been in game.
Strange. I see one every time I log on.
Seriously though, I’ve run across quite a few. We’re small. You might just be missing us.
I like the mechanical pets, so I entirely get that.
I like the regular Gnome stuff too. Though, probably clearly so, I enjoy the Mechagnome heritage armor as well.
You’re right it is.
As much as I would love to have Sethrak as well, there is little supporting them going Alliance at this time. Horde does way more for them. Though I hear if you pop over to the Sethrak Discussion Thread they’ll tell you their thoughts on that.
Hardly thoughtless. Its about time the gnomes got some time to shine and their own AR.
Yeah but those are drones. They’re not a people. They’re titan machines that only maintain things. Not much to build a race on.
