Saw that new customers are getting a boost to 20 renown on all factions
How does an existing customer that is already 70 take advantage of this?

You can pre purchase the new expansion and use the boost on a character that’s not yet level 70 and enjoy the same benefits of those who make the same purchase.

Actually, when the War Within went on sale for pre-purchase the level 70 boost that is available as part of purchase also became available on the shop. The Support Article lists what is included, which includes “20 Renown Levels for the four initial Major Factions, and 12 Renown Levels for Niffen”.
It does look like the product page for the boost is referencing an old article though for the level 60 boost though. That has already been sent up for someone to update as soon as they can.
It isn’t exactly exclusive to “new customers”, it is available for anyone who pre-purchases the War Within expansion or buys a stand alone level 70 boost.

Except it isn’t. It didn’t work before 10.2, it hasn’t worked after 10.2, and it hasn’t worked after today’s reset and the developers have given us no word whatsoever they just keep remaining silent. Even though the 20 renowned boost is the reason many of us pre-ordered but they don’t seem to care. The complete lack of comment on this issue from the development team has been angering a lot of us.

The renown boost is completely broken it does not work and has never worked. To be honest had I known this was an issue I wouldn’t have bought the expansion until these issues were resolved and then I wouldn’t be as upset as I am. The whole reason I jumped on it when I did was the 20 renown boost I basically bought a broken product and the development team chooses the best course of action for them is just remain silent

That isn’t exactly true. It does appear that you received the renown, however, some items from vendors that require a certain renown level cannot currently be purchased.
That would be considered a bug. It is something we’re aware of and is being looked into.
I understand the frustration but the development team doesn’t generally comment about each issue that they are working on. They are busy actively working on those issues so they can be resolved as quickly as they can be.

No I don’t actually have the renown it isn’t tracking at all. It shows on the window but that’s it. I don’t have the buff from the renown none of the vendors recognize my Renown it’s not just one of them it’s all of them.
If I actually had the Renown I would have the buff and I don’t even have that. I’m more so have the graphic of having the renowned but that’s it literally none of the benefits.

The renown issue is considered a bug, it isn’t that you aren’t intended to receive the benefits of it, it just isn’t showing that you do. It is being worked on.

I get that and I realize as CS agents you can only do so much. You only have the information you are given from the Developers and I get that. I guess my only point was with this being one of the main reasons many of us bought the expansion the Dev Team should release some type of statement or something about this. Reason being it’s literally nullifying the reason many of us bought the expansion to begin with
Granted we probably all would have bought the expansion sooner or later but the main reason many of us jumped on it when we did was the promise of the renown boost.

So there is no Rep boost for characters that are already 70? I don’t want to grind those reps out again!

I understand, Shiftydruid. I can assure you it isn’t that our developers are choosing to remain silent. They are simply focused on what they need to do, which is to investigate the various issues that are being reported and working on a fix.
I know the lack of info can be frustrating, believe me, I’d love an active list that I could just point to, but I’d much rather them focused on the fix.
We’ll certainly try to provide what updates we can.

If they give you any type of update are you here anything even if it’s sad news. Something like we plan to roll a fix out with Next Tuesday’s maintenance please just quote me here.
I’m just extremely frustrated because like I said the promise of the 20 renown boost is why I jumped on the Expansion when I did otherwise I probably would have waited till closer to Christmas to buy it.

It looks like a hotfix is currently in testing. I don’t know if/when it will make it to live, but wanted to provide an update on where we are.

I pre-purchased, and my boosted character did not get 20 renown with anyone.

It was hotfixed but still broken 
It wont recognize progression past 20. Does the 20 but not anything past that. Purposely got 21 for the gold scale unlock but nope

It doesn’t appear the hotfix was for this issue, but Vrak may confirm.
Wowhead is only reporting the Seedbloom and Dream Wardens infinite glitch.

Shifty, do you have access to those items renown 20 and under? You mentioned it doesn’t recognize beyond 20, but is it recognizing 20 and under?

Yes. Even have the Word of an Ally buff on my alt. But having the issue I was before but only POST 20. It does not recognize progression. They cleared the bug to 20 but not past it. So it seems

Thanks. Glad to see at least one issue has been resolved. Now to hunt down the other.
Just FYI, I was able to verify that you do have renown 21, so that isn’t lost. It apparently just isn’t being recognized.

Yeah basically we are having the same issue we had pre 20 but now its only happening post 20. Seem whatever they did they only fixed it up to 20
