Removing WoD and Legion Pathfinder is a Sucker Punch Move

I think it’s very smart of them to do that. For pity’s sake, I, like most people with pathfinder from those expansions, did the work when it was current content. No way would I want to inflict that much now-nearly- irrelevant work on anyone.

I recently earned Legions pathfinder and it brought me to the point were I nearly quit wow after 10+ years. I am 100% in favor the Blizzards removing any past /all future Pathfinder requirements. It is the one reason I have not/will not purchase new expansions and will no longer recommend World Of Warcraft .

And it will feel rewarding when you do it again in Shadowlands. Easy peasy!

I’m delighted. New players should not have to grind old content in order to fly in old content.

My effort in getting pathfinder was minimal, as it’s always been done while the content was relevant. Pathfinder in old content should never have been a thing.

This logic is flawed… In Burning Crusade or WotLK. you could spend the same amount of time 20-30min a day for a few weeks… except you could pump it out in 13 straight hours on a rainy saturday off work. You could wake up and go out just mining all day, or herbing or whatever you did to make money.

For someone that might only have Saturday/Sunday off this is nice to be able to reap rewards based on the time and effort they were able to put in. What about people who travel often for work? What about people that have a family and can’t play every day? What about people who just f’ing hate dailies and wish there was more freedom in how you got flying (similar to in BC when you could choose your path of making money to achieve the goal you were working towards).

There’s no logical argument you can actually make here besides “Pathfinder exists to artificially lengthen players engagement in the game. When a player can accomplish something in one day, they might not be encouraged to come back the next day. If you force them to complete it on a daily cycle over a month or two, then the game encourages daily engagement, which is good for investors, pie graphs to show to the higher ups, and for subscription revenue.” If you have anything to say other than that… just don’t reply.

I unlocked them when they were current content, who cares if they make it easier for newer or returning players? WoD has been out for half a decade, what’s the harm in lessening the requirements?

Get over it.

Yeah its fine I dont care.

Let other people enjoy the game!

I couldn’t care less. I did it because I wanted flying in those expansions, and have had it for years now. That’s my reward for doing it. People that haven’t done it still won’t be getting it for several months more. And even then it’s going to benefit them unless for some reason, in a new expansion, they decide to go level through these old zones. So yeah, I really don’t understand why anyone could give a crap.

I’m just hopeful this heralds the demise of PF, even Blizzard is admitting it’s a terrible system by removing parts.

It didn’t feel rewarding it was a trash grind just like in BfA , all you felt was RELIEF that finally you can be allowed to fly, but oh wait now there’s no more relevant content at this point so flying is meaningless.

I got all pathfinder current content and I can say I don’t give a flying fk if they give it out free, in fact all I care about is they give flying MUCH MUCH sooner like say after loremastering all current zones or something not a dumbass time gated grind.

When you make trash posts like this you should lose game time.

The only thing that matters in this game is transmog. And more people with pathfinder means more transmog.

I really dont care it’s being given to other players in Shadowlands. The way I see it I have benefited from it in a way other players won’t be able to once Shadowlands hits. I can get some really fast exp flying from objective to objective and picking up the treasures in-between the objectives. From what I understand the bonus objectives and treasures are being nerfed in Shadowlands so we wont be able to do this rapid exp in WoD like we can now.

It has no effect on me what so ever, we also weren’t level 1-50 in WoD and Legion aswell.

Actually I’m not defending pathfinder, in fact I said the removal of it is good for the overall health of the game, now that’s out of the way I don’t fully agree with what you said, altough I agree some kind of “weekly cap”(or no cap at all) woud be miles better than a daily “obligation” to log in the game I don’t think people that have less time to play shoud get things as fast as someone who really puts the time into the game and play almost every day. Also, people had almost a year to get the first part of pathfinder, even if you logged just for the weekend, playing 30 min of WQ woud surely give you the achiev before pathfinder part 2 was in the game, now pathfinder 2 is another beast in itself.

You got those path finders while the content was current and you were playing them. You did not sit there for months in out dated content to get flying in outdated content. This is long overdue.

Also what drives someone to keep making topics like this?

Pathfinder is good. Waiting for around a year for part 2 to come out is bad. I dislike using the sour grapes analogy but if you are playing the game and you do not have it, then the problem lies with you.

And inb4 it is bad for new players. It’s not. It gives them content to do when they first start off. To just eliminate that you open up the situation where the new player loses a reason to play the game since they have no goal to accomplish. Now whether or not the goal is enjoyable is debatable. But we can all say for certain, next to no one goes through life with next to no hardship (stress being subjective for each person give their life circumstances).

Meh. Don’t really care if they don’t require players to do Pathfinder for WoD and Legion to unlock flight.

Nope, different accounts. Great minds think alike and fools seldom differ.

anyone that thinks this way is an idiot.

i got pathfinder in wod, i got it in legion, now bfa. it’s something that shouldn’t have existed in the first place. it shouldn’t exist in shadowlands, it’s a bad system, and anyone championing it is a bad person.

removing it from old content is THE ABSOLUTE LEAST they can and should do.
