Removing LFD from Wrath and Restricting Dual Spec is a Bad Decision

why would I want to waste my time creating a group if I can use LFD?

I don’t see the point in not implementing the tool in the game, even because the player who doesn’t want to use it is not obliged, he can be spamming on /4 forever

I propose if we don’t get LFD and are stuck with /4 anyone who doesn’t use LFG channel solely for finding groups gets insta banned. Mention Trump Banned Mention Biden banned Mention your favorite sport/team/movie banned. Blizz wants /4 to be for building the community through dungeons then back it up. (Only kinda sarcastic)

Kind of sounds like they’re still bitter when the community proved J. Allen Brack wrong on the “You think you do but you don’t” statement when Classic popped off on launch. Remember when he brought up LFD and said people would miss it? Well I certainly didn’t in Vanilla, because it’s FUN traveling to the instances in vanilla on PVP servers and the content is more relevant. LFD was needed to help out old content by wotlk, it’s like they don’t realize the old devs did it to solve an issue. I don’t care if they delay it to be accurate, that would be fair.

I really like Vanilla and WOTLK for very different reasons, taking out / changing features of both defeats the purpose of classic for me. Everyone has there favorite version of the game, give them the version they want.

Whether its a bad decision or not remains to be seen. Seems like theyre tailoring the experience towards a specific crowd for whatever reason.

I would much rather have a bad experience with a group I can queue for, than have a bad experience with a group that I had to spam chat for 30 minutes to try to create, to have that same bad experience. Also, having DF in the game doesn’t change the fact that you can still put groups together the traditional way.

I don’t get it. Wrath was so easy (and that’s a good thing)
I assume RDF helped so many people start dungeoning, if you q’d as dps that was basically a free way to learn the dungeon.

Removing LFD is a mistake. Restricting dual spec isn’t.

You shouldn’t be able to swap specs mid raid and play a different role. This is very important because it reduces demand for specific roles/classes and you’ll find guilds recruiting less players as a result. They won’t need you to specialize. They can just have one person specialize two rolls and swaps to them to optimize the raid.

I’m fairly certain most people don’t understand what they mean when they say restrict dual spec. Swapping specs mid raid is not good for the game or class identity.

Swapping specs so you can farm or play pvp? Sure. Swapping specs to make raid fights more optimized? no thanks.

While the community is right about wanting LFD in the game. I’m quite certain they haven’t really thought about dual spec that hard and what it means if it’s unrestricted.

I’m aware of the two dozen or so perpetually mad that Retail even exists at all posters, yes.

This. I like the experience of playing the game, not the experience of looking for people to play the game with. The RDF tool helped shift my time more towards the “Playing” part of the equation by automating the boring part.

Doing dailies while you waited for the queue to pop was peak wow, it let you find a group while doing things out in the world vs sitting in Dalaran watching chat spam hoping you reply quick enough.

So the tool that let casual players who do not have a guild or have other people to run with, or have obligations that prevent them from spending time waiting to get picked up for a group. Who were looking forward to popping on and waiting a few for the que to pop in LFD are just out of luck. I was looking so forward to WotLK Classic now I just do not care. Maybe they make servers that offer it and servers that do not, just an idea and allow free transfers within the first 30-90 days for those that want to opt in/out. With that in mind if you do not want to use the feature no one is making you… just put it in the GAME!

Blizzard always had that weird desire to restrict dual speccing player. The game was at it’s best during cata and mop for me because I loved switching between spec for each fights on my rogue during progression. It was the peak of spec freedom in my opinion.
And slowly from draenor to BFA they made it harder and harder to do that by making you fully commit to 1 spec. They hate versatile players like me and I don’t know why.

I used to tank and heal through LFD all the time (especially with dual spec). It was a major part of the PvE game for me, whenever I wasn’t raiding with my small 10-man guild or PvP’ing.

Without LFD, I’ll be playing this game a whole lot less than I would be with it. Trying to form groups through LFG is a pain even without all the ridiculous off-topic crap to filter through. Going to really curtail the longevity of the game for me.

Put the features in as they were. Unbelievable these guys second-guessing the most popular time in WoW’s entire history with 10 mil+ subs. This is how they ended up with retail, not by putting in features that WERE in the game.

Maybe after witnessing player behavior over two classic games they concluded we were mostly toxic as hell and LFD would be like gasoline on a fire and endeavored to spare themselves a few headaches and save a few dollars by not doing it.

Then saying it was our idea in the first place. Win/win.

Otherwise it should be in there.

I don’t often get to agree with you fully Fasc, but in this case yeah 100%…

No valid reason to remove LFD or limit dual spec, imo.

There’s dozens of other things they could be working on instead, like a plan for Wintergrasp, a solution to SotA problems, a definitive statement on EMFH-PVP and Orc/Troll-PvE racials… and/or just figuring out a way to get people actually playing rated pvp (personal rating was a nice change, but it was only a small part of the overall equation).
