in game support should not require people to jump through hoops. or have to shut down their game to come to these forums to post the problem. im on the fence about canceling my sub. at this point my sanity is worth more than just one game.
the issue i had was getting disconnected from a delve after the bran mech goes away and teleports your player back to where they were standing. only to log back in and be dead within seconds. delves are not new nor are the mechanics so why am i experiencing disconnects like im playing ptr… and where did my submit a ticket go???
Disconnects can be caused from a vast number of possibilities, most commonly (but not exclusively) from terrain clipping, from DDOS attacks (as has been several instances last month) or just generic connectivity blips literally anywhere along the route your system takes to connect to Blizzard’s servers.
Disconnects are just an unfortunate companion of online gaming no matter where you go and are not only happening in delves, but game-wide.
As for your ticket, if you finished the submission process and received a ticket number to go with it, you should find it under the My Tickets header on the Support page.
this disconnect i experieced was clearly during my character return part of the bran mech. it wasnt a random disconnect.
If you’re getting disconnected during gameplay, then you’d want Tech Support.
If you think it is a bug that is causing that disconnection during gameplay, then you want to do a bug report.
Game Masters are limited to the kind of help they are able to provide. Disconnections wouldn’t be under that sort of help. They are limited after all. Now, as for why you maybe disconnecting, it is tough, because uncertain if it is something on Blizzard’s end, and it is kind of hard to see if it is your end.
To rule out any disconnections caused from your end, might need to try some Technical Troubleshooting.
This could be many things as already stated.
The first good steps would be to rule out anything that might be under your control.
In this case, I’d start with a proper reset UI. With WoW shut down, delete, move or rename your WTF, Cache and Interface folders.
If that doesn’t seem helpful, some next steps would be more tech related with things like drivers, etc.
This is one of two things:
- An issue with the client side (player) which would be connections, addons, UI, or any number of things.
- A BUG in the game causing a disconnect under specific circumstances.
You could not find a ticket option because GM/CS do not do Tech Support at all anymore, and they don’t take Bug Reports or pass them on. They can’t fix bugs for you. To submit a Bug report you need to post on the Bug Report forum, or use the in-game bug report tool. That gets it to QA who take bug reports, investigate, document, etc. Devs fix bugs in patches, not for individual players. So don’t expect a personal answer or fix.
To report a Bug you are going to need to be way more specific:
- Which Delve are you having issues with? Is it just one or is it multiple?
- Is this the Undermine one called Sidestreet Sluice where you need to use a Console?
- What Bran powers are you using?
- Anything else you can tell the QA team to help them replicate your error.
EDIT
Are you using the Pacifist Rig power on him? If so that is a known bug QA is working on. GMs/CS are not able to assist you with that.
right there can cause a dc. thats the bug i had. it is known. thats all i needed.
Ouch. You will want to use a diff power for now and if you wish to add to an existing bug thread you can. That won’t get fixed until the Devs push a fix for it. Def not something you can ticket for.
Yes, but back to the point you raised above, a GM ticket is not the way to contact Blizzard about the issue. Which is precisely the reason why it’s not an option through the Support system.
Previously, yes, you could open a general ticket about anything you wanted. And in a day, maybe 2-3 days, you would get a response that says “if you have found a bug, you need to post in the Bug Report Forum”. Now, if you utilize the Support system correctly, it will immediately direct you to the Bug Report Forum, instead of having you wait 2-3 days for such a response.
The Support system is not designed to let you choose any ending you desire. It’s designed to get you the help you need (even if it’s not the help you WANT) as fast as possible, while also directing the report to the team who can actually assist. GM’s don’t fix bugs, they don’t pass on bugs to the correct department, and except for exceedingly rare situations where the Devs have authorized a GM to intervene, they can do nothing to change what a bug is doing.
You need to give the information to the QA department, and they are reached through the Bug Report Forum (Or Report A Bug feature in the game menu).
