Hello all, as you may know, shadow priests are once again getting the shaft in Shadowlands as we are forced into a gameplay that is simply not fun, and is inefficient in environments outside of raiding. Please, we could use your help with a simple post of #removevoidform or we will be on the verge of SHADOW priest extinction for SHADOWlands. This may not be the class forums… but it seems so be our last chance for Blizzard to hear our plea to remove it. Thank you to those with support. It’s greatly appreciated.
See, this is something I never understood. If you reply on the original thread, you’re necroing, but if you make a new post instead, you’re making a repeat thread. I’d prefer that people just comment on the original thread and necro it tbh.
And I agree with this. I would love a purely cosmetic voidform.
(secretly ponders if the powers at Blizz just don’t want players to roll spriest but they remember the debacle from saying they didn’t want players to roll demonology spec and found a better way)
It’s already been confirmed to stay sadly. >.< it won’t be happening. At least not this xpac… I can’t believe they didn’t change it I really thought it got enough hate and Blizz saw that and would change it. Guess not though.
While I’m completely onboard with the #Removevoidform train(cause personally I preferred the WoD iteration where Clarity of Power/Mind spike and Devouring Plague/Auspicious Spirits were two distinct play styles via talents). I can understand why they want to keep Void Form since as a concept, it is nifty.
But, that’s all it is. A nifty concept that unfortunately just can’t be balanced. Truthfully, if they want to keep Void Form, just tweak Shadow so it works without it. Rename Power Infusion to Void Form and just let that be Shadows big cooldown. Maybe 10% spellpower, 15-20% haste and 15-20% crit. No ramp, just a static buff for a duration.

Honestly though, I’d be ecstatic if WoD’s Devouring Plague/Auspicious playstyle came back, Cascade too. Bring that back! lol
I’m not familiar with this, but is this that one combo style playstyle? Cause if it is, I will have to disagree that it should ever return.
Another boring rogue combo generating playstyle and spending those 5 combo points is just, .
While voidform has its issue, it’s probably one of the few unique playstyles in the game right now that doesn’t involve just the general, “build these points and spend them with this” playstyle.
During WoD, Shadow used a resource called Orbs. Mind Blast gave one orb(maybe 2 on crit, I can’t remember now, lol). But Devouring Plague was a hard hitting dot that costed 3 orbs. So the Devouring Plague style was just normal Shadow via keeping dots up, using mind blast, mind flay, etc… But also throwing Devouring Plagues as able. It was simple, but fun. Plus Cascade for AoE was amazing(Cascade was a talent that launched a holy orb at a enemy, which would then split into 2 and bounce to others, which would split again, so it was fantastic).
The other style was Clarity of Power/Mind Spike. Which I wasn’t a fan of, so I may be off, but if I recall it was basically putting both dots up, then using Mind Spike(which would consume the dots and do more damage or something), then at 5 Mind Spike stacks, you’d Mind Blast to consume those stacks. Though maybe I’m backwards, maybe you used Mind Spike to consume stacks from Mind Blast, iono! Though that’s been a while so like I said, I may be off in how I am trying to remember it. I hated it so outside of the initial time I tried it, I never touched it, ha.
Yea, which is why I like Voidform as a concept. But the whole premise of having to ramp up means its either good, or poop. Depending on what types of content you do.
I enjoyed the shadow orb playstyle but cannot stand void form. Shadow priest felt so much better before they added insanity and void form.
Void form might work mechanically on longer fights (that don’t typically happen outside of end game content), but it’s still important that it needs to be fun (and it’s not).
My shadow priest was my favourite caster. He’s been shelved and replaced with a destro lock because the mechanics are better, but I’m not happy about it because I don’t like having a permanent pet. I miss playing my shadow priest, but void form ruined it.
voidform is terrible and i hate everything about it, i benched my priest for BFA and again for SL since the designers clearly don’t get it. Even DevP coming back isn’t close to enough, RIP Shadow, you wuz a good one.
lies and deceits, the same argument can be used on you where is your prove that the majority like voidform. Don’t speak for others and just worry about yourself please.
