Remove World Buffs From Raids

They were exploiting that buff?!?

Weak attempt at trolling.

Sorry i get crossed up what is and isnt exploitation and griefing. This thread has blurred the lines so much

Remove consumables from bgs. Also hi Marty

You’re still trolling but yes they were “exploiting the buffs” it’s completely in line with what I’ve said the entire way through this thread, there are no blurred lines. As I’ve mentioned before the exploitation of world buffs wasn’t wide spread until TBC which is why it wasn’t fixed until TBC. Even in their first kill of the final boss encounter of vanilla the most tryhard guild didn’t get the amount of buffs that most people get to do their 14th BWL.

I know that you don’t care and you’re going to refute it anyways but it’s very clear this isn’t vanilla-like.

Hi bunsz

This is true

So your guild has stopped getting world buffs then yes? I mean you wouldnt want to be compliant in exploits correct?

Quick reminder, it’s 2020.

The whole " #NoChanGeS" is a meme.

This is Classic, not vanilla.

People play the game differently for different reason.

You need to build a bridge.

To exploit something does not imply any rule breaking.

So thats a yes?

Yes we will continue exploiting world buffs in raids until they’re fixed, if they’re never fixed we’ll exploit world buffs to the fullest in raids until TBC. Your weak attempts at trolling are boring.

Not trolling. Just wondering if you practice what you preach or if its all talk

Oh yea man I’m all talk.

I actually think you really want this. So why not be the change you seek? Show others that the content, while obviously harder w/o WBs, is far from impossible. That in fact guilds can thrive w/o them.

I’d happily raid in a guild without world buffs, just like I happily raid in a guild with world buffs. I’m not going to leave my guild because they require world buffs. And my even if my guild shift it wouldn’t change the damage it does to my server’s health or that this is nothing like actual vanilla. Nor would it help anyone that’s being forced to get world buffs to be able to raid, let alone the fact that people obviously want to raid with their friends and at times that means making compromises.

I’ve watched too many people quit this game over world buffs to not say something.

Ive never seen anyone quit for that. But im sure some have. I did see someone quit over mount costs so people will quit for every stupid reason.

Even if they remove WBs, this wont be vanilla. It wont even be close. 15yrs of showing us what works has led to a huge min/max culture that wont change with WBs. Many guilds still arent bringing certain classes regardless. There will still be an optimal way of doing things that will be followed

It definitely won’t but it’ll be closer. Given the opportunity people optimize the fun out of everything but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive for something closer to the intended product.

I don’t really see a negative with discussing things like this. Not sure if it’s the corona tension or just typical forum rage but the amount of ad hominem it’s attracting is really something.

Dont you find it odd that you are requesting something that was in vanilla to be removed from vanilla to make it more like vanilla?

Intended or not, the more they alter things the further away it gets

The solution to this is quite simple - don’t join a guild that requires them for every raid.

Another tier for parsing could be interesting, to compare buffed parses vs unbuffed parses.

Not necessarily true, 1.12 AV was in vanilla but that doesn’t mean that it was the vanilla experience. Black lotus being rare was in vanilla but the scarcity from optimization and increased flask usage wasn’t the vanilla experience. Gorshak farming was in vanilla, but it wasn’t exploited to this level etc etc etc…

Well this problem comes a lot from the fact that they made servers thatt are damn near 5x the size and didnt adjust the BL spawn rates to accommodate. The increased flask usage comes from the min/max culture as does the Gorshak farming

Min/max is everywhere. So where do we draw the line and stop altering the game to counter this mentality? I Just think thats what wow is. The true vanilla experience died at launch
