Remove World Buffs From Raids

Most of the better ones on Deviate Delight do; and it’s basically a Dad server.

Yes

Yes I enjoy doing it

Yes my guild requires it, and no my not wanting them in raids has nothing to do with whether or not I enjoy getting them, as I’ve stated innumerable amounts of times through this thread. Hence why your reply blatantly shows that you’re not reading what I’m saying, and you continue to do so.

Yes even on my dad server if you want to find a guild that clears they at least “heavily encourage” world buffing like I posted earlier, any that don’t are already full and certainly not looking for people that aren’t geared. But this isn’t just Kromcrush like I said earlier I watch plenty of streams of progressing guilds, this is the norm on most servers. Aussie servers, NA servers, EU servers indiscriminately.

So you get world buffs every week. You enjoy getting them. You do not find this unpleasant to do.

Why then, do you want an activity you enjoy removed from the game? Why did you describe it as “creating problems” “causing drama” “creating lag” “making fights less interesting” “increasing the gap between melee and everyone else”?

Why could you only name one positive for an activity you claim to enjoy participating in, but provided a laundry list of at least 5 reasons why they are a net negative?

I think your first step needs to be being honest with yourself about where you really stand on this issue, and how much of your issues with world buffs stem from your refusal to acknowledge that.

The part that I enjoy about world buffs does not outweigh the damage that I can see my server taking on behalf of them.

It’s apparently difficult for some people to do but I can separate myself from a situation and look past what I personally enjoy for what’s better for the game in my eyes. Not everyone is going to agree with that and that’s okay I don’t expect everyone to.

If it never changes I’m not going to be upset but at least I got the conversation going.

Like what?

You didn’t soak it in the last 25 times I said it?

I’m asking you to clarify. This post is 309 replies long.

I’ve said it in direct response to you multiple times already this thread, but you completely ignored it because you were so sure that I hate getting my buffs and I hate doing big damage. How about you put some effort in this time and read my posts.

Doesnt like the PvP aspect of PvP servers

So in essence, their enjoyment from wanting to be competitive leads you to believe that world buff should be removed because they are having fun the wrong way?

Ah, now you’re the one not reading. I dont think you hate parsing - in fact, I think you care about it immensely. But I think you resent what is required to do that – a large part of that being world buffs.

This oversimplification is yet another fantastic mental gymnastic out of you Slicy, you never fail to impress.

Nope, wrong again as I’ve said many times I don’t care about getting world buffs and I have no issues keeping them in raids. My server is directly losing alliance as a result of the griefing and is on the verge of becoming another skeram/stalagg, I’d like to delay that as long as possible. Among many other reasons I posted in this thread, I’m not going to summarize yet again for you.

Actually im pretty sure i understand it. You are a very competitive person that doesnt like the fact that competing is tied to WBs. This means that an opposing guild can directly hinder your ability to compete by wiping your raid. Being uber competitive this upsets you which is why you called it “griefing” which in reality it isnt. Its just annoying

And yet, PvP servers like whitemane exist where the faction balance has remained almost 50/50. World buff griefing still exists here, but it hasnt driven off any large numbers of either faction.

Perhaps your issue then, is with the interaction of world buffs and pvp servers, and blizzard’s complete disregard for faction balance and server health? Have you considered moving to a balanced pve server like grobbulus or windseeker?

This last post is ironic coming from you.
People on Grobbulus don’t want more transfers. People on my server don’t want transfers.

How about you Niia? Would Whitemane like some more transfers?

Perhaps that is giving you a biased idea of the effect that they’re having on OTHER server’s health?

I call it griefing because that’s what it is by definition. All the projections are boring, would I enjoy parsing without world buffs more? of course, and it would be more competitive too because joe shmoe in a guild that wipes multiple times in the raid can still put out a good parse on a boss because he can still get every buff.

But for me personally classic wow isn’t competitive if I wanted to parse competitively I’d do it on retail, I get good parses as a consequence of being in a good guild and getting world buffs. That doesn’t change that the modern mmorpg meta is to take these things very seriously and as I’ve said many times it is directly hurting my server, it’s directly hurting casual players and it’s directly hurting many other servers too. I see it every tuesday, wednesday, friday and saturday in my server’s discord, in world and in stormwind when I’m just chilling.

I’m not going to change servers over it. I started playing classic in no small part because of what it means for server community, I want to stay here. And clearly this isn’t just me that shares this desire, so this constant acting like I’m some lone wolf trying to push something that the community at large is uninterested in is very weird.

This paragraph makes me wonder if you even actually wanted classic to begin with, classic was supposed to be all about the community.

Whitemane is currently locked to transfers.

Just not blizzards

Funny, I remember a certain classic stream yelling no changes, and now they HATE world buffs. And this guy also played on pservers for ever. Interesting take no?

I’m just going to say, good for you for putting in the effort to getting the world buffs. But SHAME on you for raging about losing them.

So changing servers over is is inconceivable to you, but barring every over wow classic player from using world buffs in a raid isnt? You understand thats a bit absurd, right?
