Remove World Buffs From Raids

I must be a covert ‘Welcome’ guild member that resides on a different guild on a different server.

I think I get what’s going on here. Is this because you want to compete on parses but can’t because you get wiped by pvp before you can enter the raid?

As I’ve answered many times in this thread you can feel free to look at my logs and see this is unequivocally false. This is such a weak way to dismiss somebody, it’s pathetic that people on this forum use it to imply people with bad parses can’t have a valid opinion.

For reference on average I do anywhere from 2-5 times your damage.

Marty, you don’t get to decide something isn’t pvp just because you don’t like it.

I’ve read your thread. Disguise it all you want, you want to force a change because you don’t enjoy getting world buffs, but feel pressured to anyways. So you want to make it so no one can use world buffs in raids.

Taking away from others like that is selfish. You are being selfish. You try to justify it with several arguments, health of the game, etc. But that’s not what this is about and you know it.

So you consider gameplay with 5-10 second delay on abilities going off PvP?

I’m not disguising anything, don’t project your ill intentions on me.

Wanting buff stacking to stay and continue to completely ruin raiding and ruin many player’s experiences with raiding just so you can have bigger parses is selfish.

Of course it is. I never said I wasn’t being selfish. I’ll own that.

Are you a big enough person to admit you’re being selfish as well?

Its amazing how you are so confident that you know what he is thinking better than he does, I wish i had this amount of hubris

Everything on these boards are opinion. That’s my opinion of him. Take it or leave it.

Yes I’m being selfish but not for the reason you imply. I even said as much that any opinion in either direction in regards to this change is going to be based in some level of selfishness. You can scroll up and see that.

My personal interest in this comes from not wanting my server to turn into another stalagg/skeram because of BRM, booty bay, morgan’s vigil, kargath buff griefing. I also want to stop seeing people quit the game because they’re fed up with buffs, and I want a more true experience where people aren’t doing damage equivalent to late T5 TBC characters just because they collected some buffs before raid.

I couldn’t care less about having to gather buffs before raid for myself, and I personally always make it into raid with buffs. Your projected reasons for why I want this are absurd if you’ve actually read the thread like you claim.

The two things are not mutually exclusive.

It’s as if you believe the world exists in merely black and white, when in reality it’s gray like your dwarf’s beard.

Can you not see past the beard of your own dwarf?

I’ll let others decide that for themselves. I’ve merely stated my opinion.

Frankly, arguing with you is a waste of time and gives you what you want; more visibility and bumps for your topic. I think you’re willing to say anything you think will get you what you want, regardless of if it is true, if it hurts others, regardless of anything. I bet I come back here in 8 hours and you’re still here, arguing with whoever is naive enough to think you’re arguing in good faith, or listening to what they have to say.

I’ve said my piece. Take it or leave it.

You can believe whatever you want Donkles, at the end of the day neither of us know eachother. I’m not going to try to convince you of my character, frankly I couldn’t care less what you think about me. I am simply arguing the pros and cons of this change, I’ve told you why it personally effects me and it’s not your implied reason.

You can claim that of anyone on any forum, but at the end of the day thinking that way defeats any room for discussion.

I think this addresses the people who rage and get too obsessive over CD’s to lighten up but doesn’t necessarily address the brokenness of WB. Putting them in flasks imo make it more OP. At least it’s an idea though.

Most likely coronavirus refugees. When people start going back to work, it might die out. The main reason people refrained from going back to classic was that it was too time consuming and people now had too much free time on their hands. It’s about to change with the caveat people have gotten lazy and used to not doing too much on a daily basis to trying to recover huge unemployment surges.

I wont’ say “assume they will be gone” but there is a good chance a lot of these refugees will stop subbing come July.

Incorrect. This language was removed from the Terms of Service when Wrath of the Lich King was released.

It was not amended or added back in for classic - I urge you to find it if you believe differently. You won’t, because it isnt there.

As far as “if you want a challenge, just do content without world buffs” – well, we do, frequently – because playing on the largest PvP server in the US, sometimes you lose the battle to make it inside BWL unscathed. Its still not difficult content in any way whatsoever even without buffs.

This is 10000% the most annoying part of the whole thing. Want to go farm some herbs while waiting on the raid but you got world buffs? LOL NOPE!

When I read through threads on this topic, I always wonder to myself “what do people actually like about world buff stacking”? You see so many ad hominem attacks and pointless nitpicking of the OP’s points on here, but not a single genuine defense of why world buffs are good for the game or representative of Vanilla. I suspect it’s because that defense doesn’t exist, and most on here are just arguing for the sake of arguing.

For some people, min-maxing to extremes is fun. Its a whole game within itself to squeeze every last bit of performance they can out of every corner of the game.

Lots of people understandably find this a waste of time. The point is, its a choice – and I’ll never understand why people join guilds with stringent world buff requirements if it isnt how they enjoy playing.

Personally, we encourage world buffs, if you take the time to get them we’ll help you protect them, but if life happens and you cant get them all or something goes wrong and you lose them, we arent going to dump you from the raid for it.

OPs real core issue seems to be the culture of some ultra-tryhard guilds not really being a fit for him.

When you post things like this it makes it abundantly clear you’re not reading anything I’ve said.

because for many people the option is either join a guild that requires world buffs or don’t raid. And in many of those guilds that require buffs they don’t even get to keep them (not from outside the raid but from wipes inside)

I’m glad that you’re enjoying whitemane but I can tell you from talking to some of my friends on whitemane your opinions are not unanimous. Many more of the people I know absolutely abhor it but they put up with it because they enjoy classic.

Do you, or do you not get full world buffs every week?

Do you, or do you not enjoy doing this?

Does your guild require this of you? If not, who is? Who is forcing you to participate in an activity you clearly do not enjoy?

because for many people the option is either join a guild that requires world buffs or don’t raid.

You’re telling me the only guilds on Kromcrush that are actively clearing BWL all require full world buffs for every raid?
