Remove Timer From M+ = More Tanks

I wouldn’t exactly say this, not until 15s or something. The thing is, tanks have so many defensives and cooldowns that there’s a vast skill disparity.

You already do easy content even in the easiest season, so it’s not like MOAR POWER is going to solve anything (if we wanted people to move up.)

It’s better to limit how powerful the tanks are.

No worries, I can explain!
The comment I made was in fact a tongue-in-cheek comment intended to sound sardonic, hinting at a general distaste for the overall direction Blizzard has taken the game due to what can only be corporate-level metrics goals, coupled with a “solution” that was crafted to sound equally unacceptable for all possible readers, in different ways!

Sorry, did not catch the sarcasm. Thanks

Well that’s the goofiest take I’ve seen in the forums a while.
Just un-nurf tanks and they’ll come back, as is expressed multiple times a day in this forum.
If you don’t like timers because you do 1 to 4 bricked keys a week as a personality trait, Delves and Follower dungeons are thataway :point_right:t5: :door:

EDIT, I just read this now :

:joy: :joy: :joy:  :joy:, wooooo! Thanks for the goofy jokes!

all of this.

since then, trinkets are well below lackluster. some have interesting design, but significantly underperform. the effects are just weak.

it feels much worse to be a tank this season because we have been nerfed and healing throughput is modest. the timers feel tight in many dungeons.

I got to 2k rating on my bear. it felt like a long slog. even at 619 ilevel, I felt a lot of challenged in the 6/7 key range.

I am now running my BDK. I almost started the expac with this toon, but I went with bear because of MotW and self dispels because of all the poisons.

i have long appreciated the mob control BDK brings. the mob control kit is crazy good. with seemingly more and more “shoot” NPCs which can’t be interrupted, the three forms of grips BDK has makes a huge difference. as BDK, I feel like I can control the pulls SO much better than with bear.

I don’t have to be mobile to get to the mobs. I bring them to me.

we need better balance. boost tanks and healers by 5-10% across the board. relax the timers by 5-10%.

more agency, more throughput, a bit less stress. these corrections would remove some of the obstacles to people tanking.

YMMV

“have mobs hit harder”

Bro never tanked a higher key in his life

This made me LOL for real.

If you want more tanks and heals they need to stop having to do 2x the work for the same rewards.

They have to do every DPS mechanic, and then the tank and healer ones. We’ll get more non damage roles if say they make interrupting or stopping casts give you 20% haste for 10 seconds like it did in legion. Then DPS will actually handle their own stuff. Till then, it’s not worth doing outside of the weekly.

If they want more tanks they need to work on attracting more players. More players = more tanks.

We’ve gone down the route of making tanks OP, giving them extra rewards, and providing them with a disproportionate level of agency over groups. None of that has solved the problem.

Raiding needs more tanks per raid group.

That alone would change the m+ tank ratio

They don’t though and the mechanics that everyone has to do are non-role specific and doesn’t apply.

Alternatively they need to just return to the perfect raid size, 10 man.

You can;t remove the timer because there would no longer be a “fail” mechanic. Meaning you will always get the max reward and your key will never down grade.

Nah. I am good not making raids smaller.

Go heal siege, or gb with no rdps in the group and say this again. Have fun doing all the mechanics.

Why would GB even matter?

Siege has first boss I suppose.

Second boss, the lava dot you run out of group happens at the same time as forge swords.

Most bosses have an enrage timer genius.

Enrage timers are the only timers that should exist in M+

And they should be soft enrages, like the boss gains a stacking buff, or too many adds spawn.

Not this again.

Your opinion is wrong.
