Remove Timer From M+ = More Tanks

Yes and OP’s alternative is to implement more mechanics that makes tanking miserable. Tanks are famous for loving being instagibbed by white hits because they didn’t have a defensive up for 0.1s.

Because you dont seem to understand the fall out of how math works.

If 1.6 is the group average, and you want to do 80% of the group average…

The way math works is there will be at least one dps below that group average.

Another issue is how much easier it is for tanks to do their best in regards to damage.

I think my last timed 10 we had like 2 full group wipes.

No they havent.

You havent suggested any.

You can time things with mistakes.

Because its a group game.

You are right. That is why I dont play RIFT, GW2. I dont want to play lesser systems.

At the moment? Yes, but that can literally be changed. Which is what the OP is advocating for. Not to make it easier, but to remove the timer.

As I said in my above post, the MMO Guild Wars 2 has their own version of the M+ system, which has existed for longer than the World of Warcraft version. It doesn’t have a timer, but it is still difficult, it still requires skill and dedication to clear the highest tier of content, and it truly is skill based, because there is no way to outgear the system, as that MMO doesn’t have a vertical progression system once you get to level level 80.

You get ascended tier gear, which can be crafted or obtained from multiple other sources, and once you’ve got that gear, then that’s it.

My post literally covered examples if you bothered to read it fully, which you clearly did not, instead choosing to skim over it and snip out the parts you feel are relevant to your argument.

Try reading the entire thing first, understand it, then come back with rebuttals.

I’m familiar. GW2 is a different game with a fairly different community. It’s been a very long time since I’ve played GW2 so I can’t debate the reasoning behind no timers nor the benefit it brings in that game. I can’t recall.

remind me, please. How does one get loot in GW2 again? is it instances or crafted?

+5 is like 590 ilvl.

If you’re expecting higher, that’s a you problem.

And if you’re inviting people, don’t you know their ilvl to begin with???

I did.

I found it lacking.

Here you claim delves are challenging content without a timer. They are not.

Having more bosses greatly extending the time in a dungeon goes against m+'s intended purpose. I dont want average m+ times to be 1 hour long.

Once again, I dont see an 8 boss dungeon making things better.

So basically a gear check. No skill involved, just a gear check.

The most boring of systems.

“more bosses doubling the length of a dungeon” and “gear check” arent some creative way to make the dungeon harder.

Except you can.

Because its a team game.

I dont, that is why I avoid RIFT and GW2.

Ok. I think I quoted your entire thread with responses.

And nothing changed from my response.

I am sorry “gear check” and “making every dungeon have 8 bosses” arent being viewed as creative and innovative ways to make things harder.

Doubling down on not knowing what you are talking about I see. There are timers there too, except they are a hard stop unlike M+

an M+5 is dropping 590 gear? oh wow.

Take a talentless caster, we’ll call them someone.

If Someone decided to do a M+5 rather a Delve 8, would this someone see a noticeable gap in difficulty?

Seems a little crazy to get such a low item from a 5.

590 ilvl to do or lower.

Okay, you can do your 590 ilvl +5s with your group of friends. If you come into a key I’m in I’m instantly leaving.

You can get it from a variety of sources. Crafting is one method, but you can also earn a limited number of pieces each season from the Astral Vault (a new system they added with Secrets of the Obscure which replaced the standard daily achievements and monthly login bonuses the game used to have), you can also do their version of M+ for gear boxes, you can PvP for it, either through standard PvP or World vs World content. Vendors have some ascended items with pre-set stats etc.

The options you have to get that tier of gear is quite vast.

The only tier above that is legendary, but legendary gear doesn’t confer any stat bonuses over ascended gear, just utility and cosmetic. A piece of ascended gear, once its stats are chosen, can be changed but it requires an investment of materials. Once the change is made, if you want to swap back to a different set of stats, you have to go through the process again and with 19 pieces of gear that can be ascended teir, that can be expensive.

Legendary armor/weapons on the other hand can have their stats swapped at will. If you want to try out a new build that requires a different combination of armor stats, it’s simply a matter of using the UI to change things up for yourself, and you can do that as many times as you like.

So, you don’t actually want to do the content, but want to get carried?

Like, no one of your ilvl expectation is going to be there. They’ll be at 7s, or extremely bad with high ilvl.

+5 is a key level that most people do not run.

Someone’s alt at 590 sounds rather okay, and workable.

You’re on ignore, bro, just stop replying. Literal freak.

Yikes… this amount of vitriol is unexpected, and unwarranted.

Thank you for that run down memory lane! I forgot a lot about that game. jeez, qucik question: Hows the RvRvR doing??

Do fractals drop gear or items to craft gear?

It’s not that unexpected to be honest. Unwarranted, but predictable

Stop replying to me, freak. You’re on perma ignore for a reason.

No, I’d say it’s unexpected. Would be like just because bad interactions can happen on the internet to expect one at every turn.

That’s simply illogical.

Stop replying to me freaky freak person, you’re on perma giga uber ignore for a reason.

That’s fair, I more meant from that particular person though. They’ve made something of a habit of it
